Especially when that goodbye is to a dog woven into your family's fabric for years. Seriously...where did all that hair come from?!?! Just kidding...but really...

As a photographer, I spend my days encouraging people to photograph the ones they love. The silly moments. The quiet moments. The way they look at you. The things you think you'll always remember.

And then there are the moments you wish you could freeze forever...but you're not sure your heart is ready to capture them.

Losing a family dog is one of those goodbyes that feels impossible. They aren't just a dog. They're there for the chaos, the celebrations, the ordinary Tuesday nights, the growing kids, the changing seasons, and all the little pieces of life in between.

They become part of the family story.

So if you have a dog who is still running, playing, following you from room to room, stealing your spot on the couch, or looking at you like you're their entire world...

Take the picture.

Take the blurry one. Take the ridiculous one.
Take the one where they're looking at you instead of the camera.
