Some pre ceremony dreaminess with the sweetest first look with dad to add color to your feed today.. I can’t wait to share the rest!

I want to shed light on something that has been heavy on my heart lately as I’ve been seeing quite a few fellow photographers hang up their hats lately.. Did you know these statistics of time frames for wedding photographers ?

High Turnover (1–2 Years): A significant percentage of wedding photographers—estimated at 60%—stop operating full-time within the first 2 years.

Initial Survival Rate (3–5 Years): Studies suggest that 73% to 85% of creative and photography businesses fail within the first few years. Only about 15% of wedding photographers make it past the 4-year mark full-time.

Long-Term Survival (5+ Years): Only about 10% of full-time wedding photographers stay in business past the 5-year mark.

I can’t stress enough the importance of treating your wedding vendors with so much kindness. There may be a handful of crappy vendors but the majority of us pour so much heart and soul, money, energy, and time away from our families not even on the wedding day but planning beforehand and hours and hours of editing afterwards that just one bad and unpleasant experience makes it not worth the stress and poor mental health of something we’ve poured so much into

I chose Lauren’s and Ben’s wedding for this post because from the moment I met them they made me feel so warm, welcomed, and cherished.. not only them but on their wedding day their family went out of their way to tell me how much they loved my work and appreciated everything I was doing for them and it just makes doing what I do so worth it because yes there has been weddings where I have showed up and have been treated like nothing but the help and even sometimes an inconvenience and no matter what I will try my absolute best no matter the circumstance but how you are treated really does affect your spark and the space you’re able to create from. The long term wedding industry truly is made up of small businesses that do their craft with their whole heart and have also been received that way by their clients otherwise they wouldn’t have lasted as long as they have in this industry

If you made it this far thank you 🫶🏻

When it comes to choosing your ceremony time I recommend asking your venue and photographer about the best time to have your ceremony based on the best lighting for beautiful images. One of my personal wedding regrets during our elopement was having our ceremony mid day and really wish my photographer would have suggested a later time closer to sunset for those creamy glowy images vs the harsh mid day sun and for this reason I suggested a later time for Augy + Luke and they absolutely nailed the most gorgeous ceremony lighting at

But please keep in mind every ceremony space is different and timing is everything. My least favorite lighting situation is the sun setting behind the ceremony too early and guests having to shield their eyes from the sun to see you so I have had multiple couples send me pictures of the lighting at their ceremony space during the time of day they are looking at for my opinion and if that’s not my love language I don’t know what is😂

Interrupting your feed with this stunning bride and all of her purple glory 💜
Molly was the most iconic bride and all of her details were insanely gorgeous
The biggest vendor highlights to for the most beautiful flowers and catering the champagne greeting for guests when they arrived was such classy touch and as a self proclaimed coffee snob their coffee was SOO good

This wedding was one of the most beautiful weddings I got to witness not just because it was so stunning but full of so much love not only between this couple but their family and friends as well.. I got to capture so many genuine heartfelt and candid moments. I wish everyone could take a page out of Bri and Caleb’s book because everyone says they want candid photos but when it comes to getting those shots it really is you get what you give so go in for those brief pauses with your loved ones, hold hands, give forehead kisses, and snuggle in and really try to be present and take in every moment of your day
