I am excited to announce that the Professional Photographers of America, PPA, featured me in an article in its July publication. The title of the article is "Wild Things, Steven Barger Finds Solace in the Natural World". The Article was written by Amanda Arnold and featured ten of my images.
PPA was founded in 1868, and is the largest and longest-standing nonprofit photography trade association. It currently helps over 30,000 professionals elevate their craft and grow their business.

A sincere thank you to Purple Paisley, Local Artisan Shop for selecting me as the Featured Artist for the month of July. I will be at the shop on July 24th from 11am – 3pm. Cedar Falls in summer after a period of heavy rain.
This photograph was captured using a Phase One IQ3 digital back with a Schneider-Kreuznach 75-150mm LS lens, which is perhaps the most versatile lens for an FX camera system. My processing was largely done in Capture One Pro. Many thanks to Digital Transitions for their assistance in recommending this system for me.

My piece, Ethereal, will be on display in Atlanta as part of the Atlanta Photography Group / APG Member’s Choice Exhibition alongside the work of many other talented artists March 6th - April 3rd. The exhibition will be housed at Indie Studios, 190 Ottley Drive NE, and will also be on display via the APG’s Online Viewing Room Gallery. Open house for the exhibition will take place on March 6th from 12-5pm, with social distancing guidelines in place. There will also be an artist talk via Zoom, Thursday, March the 18th at 7pm EST.
