Though it is a crazy story of how we got connected, it’s an even crazier story of how your love story was made.

These two met on Instagram. One from New York, and another from the Philippines.

It was Norma’s first day ever as a US citizen, and coincidentally her birthday!

I had the honor to do their drive thru wedding (elopement if you will) and it was one of the coolest experiences ever!

We got elements thrown at us all over the place… Rain, wind, cold temps, and a flooded creek! But our creative minds all worked together, bared through the conditions, and we got the job done!

Trey was a very kind volunteer for some individual photos! Surprisingly, I don’t have many shots for men, but I wanted to share these fun dusk photos from Ault Park!

The last couple pics have a slight motion blur to them, but with portraits, that’s not always a bad thing as long as you mix in some cleaner shots! I think the slight motion adds EMOTION to the image!

Here is the first of many tests with the 24-70 2.8 from 2002… You can see that it handles noise very well as I am sitting at 8000 ISO in lowlight! Surprisingly, no added noise reduction either! It is also pretty dang sharp for an old lens, and it works very well with the 90D autofocus system!

Be on the lookout for more 24-70 posts, and eventually a video!

My favorite shot of the day at the Zoo last week by far! 600mm, 1/500, f8, ISO 200. I’m mind blown how sharp the Tamron is at f8, and how well it focused on such a small yellow jacket!

It’s a shame I don’t have 45mp to crop in on the insect full resolution 😂

A lot of these captures are on a 600mm lens at f8! Definitely not the most ideal lens for flowers, but the 24-70 only got me the final two photos before it gave out 🤷🏻‍♂️

What do you guys think? I’ve never done floral photography before, but I actually love it!

Ok. I have a LOT to unpack about this shoot, but first I want to thank Junebugcaptures Photography for 1. Getting Leah and I a little extra couple session, and 2. Giving me an opportunity to use her and her boyfriend as my FIRST EVER COUPLE SESSION!

These two were the two friendliest, jolliest people I’ve met in a LONG time, and I’m so glad I followed through with setting this up!

Now for the shoot itself… I had mishap. My 24-70 2.8 just quit on me!!! Don’t worry, I got a different one now. But I was left with two lenses with my 90D. The 70-200 2.8 (112-320 cropped) and a Tamron 150-600 (240-960 cropped). Well, this was a no brainer. I had to use the 70-200. And it once again delivered in a very challenging setting to use that lens in. Especially for couples!

With all things considered, I’m VERY proud of myself for keeping my composure, and trying to create shots on a telephoto lens, when others probably would’ve given up. I’m also proud of myself for how great these turned out!

I have more I will share later, but I really wanted to start out with these! I also have individual photos I will share! 🙂

P.S. if you’d like to leave CC, that’s fine. But I already know there’s a tree in the background. That’s the point of the shoot. To get the blossoms in frame 🙂

Coaster season is right around the corner! In celebration of that, I wanted to share a fun pic from closing day of last season!

You may notice a bit of grain. That’s because this was shot with the Canon 90D, 70-200 2.8 Mark 1, and the 2X V3 teleconverter. 1/1600, f7.1, ISO 1600, and 225mm!
