Speaker friends, I came across something worth sharing, especially for those of you who need updated speaking footage or are working toward your Toastmasters Accredited Speaker or NSA CSP designation.
How many times have you given a great presentation and wished someone had captured it properly?
At the Premier Speaker Summit in Dallas, October 30–31, speakers can record everything from a three-minute demo reel to a 45-minute presentation with a three-camera video setup.
You get professional stage photography, videography, raw footage for designation submissions, opportunities to collect spoken and video testimonials from attendees, and sessions on marketing and presentation skills.
I'll be there as the event photographer, which means I get to capture some of you doing what you love!
Sharing because I know how much work goes into arranging professional footage, especially when you need it for a specific speaking designation.
Here's the information for anyone who might find it useful:

Emotion can be photographed.

I was preparing for a half-day family photo shoot on a hot day, and I knew two children would be part of it. That meant I needed to think beyond cameras, lenses, and lighting. I needed to think about their experience.

So I brought a few playful snacks, including these little egg mice, cheese, and a fun drink. Their reaction was priceless. Something so small completely delighted them, and that joy carried right into the photographs.

That is the part of photography people do not always see. A great photograph does not begin when I press the shutter. It begins with how people feel in the moment.

When children feel excited, adults relax. When everyone feels cared for, expressions change. Shoulders drop. Smiles become real. Connection becomes visible.

What we feel on the inside is often exactly what the camera captures on the outside.

That is why I photograph the experience, not only the event.

I took this photo when I was invited to speak at the Dynamic Women’s Conference in Oklahoma, where I had the privilege of meeting members of the Chickasaw Nation.

What stayed with me was the opportunity to listen. To hear their stories, learn about their traditions, and spend time with people willing to share a part of their culture with me was a gift.

I am grateful for what I learned and especially thankful for the trust they gave me in allowing me to capture their photographs.

Sometimes the greatest privilege of being invited to speak is getting the opportunity to listen.

The youngest attendee at the Ohio District Kiwanis Convention was four weeks old, arrived in a stroller, and slept through most of it.

One of our attendees is fostering this kitten. Bottle fed, tiny enough to disappear into a sleeve, and completely at ease in a room full of strangers.

This young woman walked over just to see her, and next thing you know she was holding her, and neither of them wanted to let go.

That is the thing I keep noticing about Kiwanis people. The care does not stop at the edge of the service project. It shows up in who they pick up, who they carry, who they refuse to leave behind. A room full of leaders who spend their year serving kids, and here they were passing a kitten around like she was the guest of honor.

She was.

Photo by me, and no, I did not get to hold her long enough.

A doorway. A milestone. A moment worth remembering.

Photographing this Bar Mitzvah gave me the opportunity to capture more than a celebration. I wanted to capture the young person at the center of it, stepping into a new chapter.

At the Cincinnati Selfie Museum for a Black Tech Week networking event, I enlisted these two attendees to step into the display and serve as my mannequins. Sometimes the best photos begin with an ask and two people willing to play along!

I had the privilege of photographing a Bar Mitzvah at one of Cincinnati's majestic downtown synagogues. Before the ceremony, I noticed this beautiful spiral staircase and immediately saw an opportunity.

I invited the young man to stand at the top while I photographed him from below. The result? One of my favorite images from the day.

Some of the best photographs aren't planned. They come from slowing down, noticing the architecture, the light, and the possibilities that others might walk right past.

Every celebration deserves images as unique as the person being celebrated.

I was photographing the networking event at the Cincy Selfie Museum during Black Tech Week when I noticed these two gentlemen. They weren't together, but from where I stood, their outfits were so similar they looked like they belonged in the store window.

I asked if they'd be mannequins.

They looked confused. They're not from the U.S., so I explained what I meant.

They didn't just say yes, they fully committed! 😄

One of my favorite things about photography is seeing possibilities others might miss and inviting people to be part of the fun. Sometimes the best images don't just happen. They begin with a simple ask.

📸 That's the difference between taking pictures and creating moments.

What would you have thought if you walked past this window?

I'm doing the 365 View Challenge, where I tackle a different photography challenge every day. Not sure how long I'll keep it up, but I'm giving it a shot! It should be easier than the challenge I gave myself to speak in all 50 states in one year... which I finished in 14 months. 😊

The fun part is that it's not always about taking a photo. It's about pushing myself to think differently.

This one wasn't a "capture" challenge. It was about turning a wedding day around.

The day had started off pretty rough, and I really wanted to see a genuine smile on the bride's face.

I made a custom water bottle label with gerbera daisies. Her wedding dress had been designed by 10-year-old prodigy Max and had arrived just days before the wedding. The fabric came from Japan, so I made her a little origami dress decorated with gerbera flowers. Inside was a joyful message just for her.

And since it was over 100 degrees that day, I figured a bottle of cold water was both practical and a fun surprise.

Sometimes being a photographer isn't just about taking pictures. It's about creating a moment that's worth photographing. ❤️
