Alaynna Meyer Media Documentary Style Wedding Photographer - Southern Ohio
Where the ordinary becomes extraordinary I like to keep it real.

This pretty much sums up my personality and my photographs. I'm a pretty direct communicator, and I've always preferred real connection over perfection. You'll never find me over-editing your photos or sapping all the color out of them. Instead, the light will look how the day felt and the back of my camera will reflect what I see. Because from my perspective, you and your day are already beautiful.

If Lorelai + Rory Gilmore planned a fall photo set... 🍂☕📚
Tomorrow’s Farmers Market setup is officially DONE and apparently I decided subtlety was not invited.

Think cozy Sunday morning in Stars Hollow, but make it a little moodier. Old books everywhere. A giant book-page backdrop. Blankets tossed down picnic-style. Pumpkins. Coffee mugs. Vintage camera. Paper airplanes tucked throughout because obviously we needed a little whimsy. Basically, come dressed like you’re about to grab coffee, browse a bookstore, and accidentally have the cutest fall photos of your family taken along the way.

I’ll be at the Deer Park Market Gathering tomorrow from 9 AM to 12:30 PM doing On-the-Spot Mini Sessions. No elaborate planning. No full photo-session commitment. Just show up, hop in front of my camera, and leave with some cozy little fall memories.

And because I photographed this in my backyard tonight, please kindly ignore the suburban fence cameo. Tomorrow she gets her pine tree and her proper Farmers Market glow-up.

🍂 Tomorrow, Sunday
☕ 9 AM to 12:30 PM
📍 Deer Park Market Gathering

Come say hi, get some photos, grab a coffee, buy something you absolutely did not intend to buy from another vendor, you know... a proper Sunday morning.

One thing I take VERY seriously on a wedding day? Becoming weirdly close with your ENTIRE guest list by the end of the night. 😂
Because yes, obviously I’m there for you two, but your wedding is not happening in a vacuum. It’s happening in a room full of people who love you enough to show up, get dressed up, cry during your ceremony, scream during your entrance, embarrass themselves on the dance floor, and celebrate the absolute hell out of you.
And I want them in your gallery too.

So I’m not the photographer who shows up, silently takes pictures, and disappears into the wallpaper for ten hours.

I’m joking with your wedding party. I’m talking to your parents and grandparents. I’m hyping up your friends. I’m getting pulled onto the dance floor by your uncle. I’m probably somehow in on an inside joke by the end of cocktail hour. 🤷‍♀ Because the more comfortable your people are with me, the more they forget there’s a camera around. And THAT is when I get the good stuff.

Your mom fixing your veil when nobody is watching. Your dad laughing with his brothers at the bar. Your grandma losing it during the ceremony. Your best friend crying during your first dance. The table in the corner having WAYY too much fun. Your college friends recreating some ridiculous dance from ten years ago. The people you love being completely, unapologetically themselves.

I don’t want you to open your gallery and find 700 photos of yourselves with the occasional guest sprinkled in for decoration. I want you to see your PEOPLE. The relationships. The reactions. The hugs. The chaos. The little moments happening five feet behind you that you never even knew existed.

Because someday, those photographs might matter just as much as the ones of the two of you. Maybe even more.

So yes, I’ll photograph the hell out of your wedding. But I’m also going to make friends with your mom, become your bridesmaid’s new best friend, learn which groomsman is the menace of the group, and keep an eye on Grandma because she is almost certainly doing something adorable.

Your wedding story is 100% about you, but it’s also about everyone who helped make the room feel like home. 🤍

I’ve photographed enough weddings to know there are a few things I just… don’t do. And I’m VERY okay with that. 🌟HI 🌟 It’s me, your open book wedding photographer.

I don’t run your timeline. I’ll speak up when something could affect your photos or experience, but your wedding day is yours.

I don’t run the show. Your wedding should feel like a wedding, not an eight-hour photoshoot with a ceremony squeezed in somewhere.

I don’t over pose you. I’ll guide you, fix the awkward hands, and help when your brain suddenly forgets how humans stand. But I’m not forcing you into anything that doesn’t feel like you.

I don’t need every moment to be “Instagram worthy.” The dirty dress, ugly crying, grandma tearing up, your friends absolutely losing it on the dance floor… that’s the good stuff.

I don’t steal half your wedding day for portraits. We’re getting beautiful photos, obviously. But you should also get to actually attend your own wedding. Revolutionary, I know.

And I don’t manufacture “candid” moments that aren’t happening. Real > staged. Every damn time.

So what do I do?

I notice.

The nervous hand squeeze. Your dad’s face as you walk down the aisle. Your friend crying three rows back. The glance across the room. Your people laughing, hugging, drinking, dancing, and being completely themselves.
I give direction when you need it, then leave room for the day to unfold.

Because I’m not there to run your wedding. I’m there to notice it. To photograph the things you missed, the people you love, the chaos, the quiet, and everything in between.
Not just what your wedding looked like. What it felt like to be there. 🤍

MERRY LITTLE MAYHEM IS OFFICIALLY HERE.

And by “merry,” I obviously mean twinkle lights, tiny humans running on candy cane fumes, someone suddenly forgetting how smiling works, and at least one parent whispering *please just cooperate for five minutes* through gritted teeth.
You know. ✨Christmas magic.✨

This year’s Holiday Mini Sessions are built for the families who want festive photos without the stiff, overly posed, everyone-stare-at-the-camera-until-your-face-hurts nonsense. Think cozy snuggles. Belly laughs. Kids being gloriously weird. Little hands stealing ornaments. Parents actually getting in the damn photos. And all those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments that somehow end up being the ones you love most.

And because apparently I have absolutely no self-control when it comes to Christmas setups, you’ll have multiple wildly different studio vibes to choose from:

- The North Pole Lodge
- Snowflakes & Shenanigans
- Heritage Holidays
- Pinecones & Peppermint
- Holidays in the Library
- Winter Whimsy

These sessions are short, intentional, and designed to keep things moving before the holiday spirit leaves your child’s body entirely.
Holiday Minis are booking now. 🎅🏻✨

Ok… how about this?
Fall photos, but nobody has to stand in a field pretending they naturally spend their evenings holding hands and staring lovingly at each other…. 🙃

This year’s fall minis are a little different.

I wanted something that still feels like fall without screaming PUMPKINS. PLAID. ORANGE LEAVES. Something cozy, a little moody, and actually worth hanging on your walls year-round.

So for September + October, I’m offering two indoor fall mini session options:

🍂 AUTUMN AFTER DARK | Hamilton, Ohio

This one is for my moodier people.
Think black walls, vintage leather, warm wood, eclectic details, gorgeous window light, and that slightly editorial, cinematic feeling I love so damn much.

🍂 AUTUMN AT HOME | Lockland, Ohio

This one is softer, brighter, and cozy in that Sunday morning at home kind of way.
Original hardwood floors, huge windows, textured walls, neutral bedding, leather, warm wood details, and a massive vintage pocket door.
It feels like home, except your actual home doesn’t need to be clean first. Which, frankly, is a selling point all by itself.

$150
Both sessions are 30 minutes, which I’ve found is MORE than enough time to get what we need without reaching the point where the kids are done and everyone starts asking, “Are we almost finished?”

And these aren’t just for families.

Bring your partner. Bring the kids. Bring your dog (certain studios allow, check with me!). Bring your baby bump. Use it for an announcement. Update the photos of just you and your favorite tiny humans. Hell, book one because you realized the last good photo of everyone together is from 2022.

You’ll receive at least 20 edited images, delivered through a private online gallery, with a 2–4 day turnaround.
No hour-long session. No forced smiles.

No need to wait three weeks wondering if your toddler blinking in every photo somehow ruined the entire thing.

Just 30 minutes to hang out, love on your people, let me gently guide you when needed, and make some really freaking beautiful photographs together.

Autumn After Dark + Autumn at Home are booking for September and October 2026.

Spots are intentionally limited since these are pre-scheduled studio dates. So if one of them feels like you, snag your session before I run out of places to put people. 🍂🖤

Well… Mother Nature has other plans. 🌧️

With tomorrow’s forecast looking pretty rough, I’ve made the decision not to set up my booth at the deerparkmarketgathering . The market itself is still happening, but I don’t want to risk damaging my studio gear or the props I’ve spent so much time putting together.
The good news? If you were hoping to stop by for one of my $40 mini sessions, I’m extending that special through the entire month of August! ☀️
For $40, you’ll still get a 10 minute session at Chamberlain Park on an August date that works for both of us. Whether you’re wanting updated family photos, back to school portraits, couples, maternity, or just because, you’ve still got a chance to snag the market special.

Thank you all for understanding. Weather is one thing none of us can control, and I’d much rather create a great experience than a soggy one. 😂

I’ll miss seeing everyone tomorrow, but I’ll be back at the next Farmers Market, and I can’t wait to see you all then! ❤️ Send me a message if you’d like to grab one of the August mini session spots!

There’s just something about a Sunday at the farmers market.

Good people. Local businesses. Fresh coffee. Kids running around. Music in the background. It’s honestly one of my favorite ways to spend a morning.

If you’ve been thinking about getting updated family photos, this weekend is the perfect excuse. I’ll be there offering on-the-spot mini sessions, and for the first time, my Back to School setup will be making its debut. Swipe to the end for a little sneak peek. 📚✏️🍎

Not feeling the school theme? No worries. I’ll also have my classic pine tree setup available, which is perfect for families, couples, kiddos, seniors, or honestly whatever season of life you’re in.

While you’re there, make sure you stop by and support the incredible local vendors. They’re the reason these markets are so much fun, and they’re absolutely worth checking out.

I just found out that Alaynna Meyer Media has been nominated for CommunityVotes Dayton in the Photographers category, and honestly… I’m a little emotional. 🖤

This business has grown through late nights, second guessing, learning, creating, showing up, and trusting that the kind of photography I believe in matters. The real moments. The messy ones. The quiet ones. The ones that may not look “perfect,” but feel exactly like your life did in that moment. To know that people in this community thought of my work, took the time to nominate me, and considered it meaningful enough to put my name forward means more than I can properly explain.

Thank you to every couple, family, vendor, friend, and person who has supported me, shared my work, trusted me with their memories, or simply reminded me to keep going. This nomination belongs to all of those moments too.

I’m just incredibly grateful to be here. Truly. 🤍

This is why I love photographing receptions. Not because of the dance floor, because people slowly stop performing for the camera. They settle into the evening. The hugs get tighter, the laughter gets louder, and the moments become more honest. 🖤
