It’s crazy to think that this October marks 5 years of photography for me. What started with photo classes in high school slowly turned into something I truly can’t imagine my life without. The foundation of everything I learned started on film, and somewhere along the way I just never put the camera down.
Over the last 5 years, photography has given me so much more than just a career. It’s given me creative freedom, incredible relationships, opportunities to travel, and the ability to build a life that feels fulfilling both personally and professionally. I’ve gotten to balance wedding weekends, senior sessions, slow evenings at home, trips with my husband, and life with our sweet dog Daisy, and I’m really grateful for all of it.
Weddings and seniors will probably always have my heart for completely opposite reasons. Weddings are filled with so much raw emotion and storytelling, while senior sessions are fun, carefree, and full of excitement for what’s ahead. Being trusted to capture those moments for people is something I’ll never take lightly.
I think one of the hardest parts of being creative is overcoming the constant feeling that you could always be doing more or being better. Imposter syndrome is very real, and even after 5 years, it’s something I still work through. But the support from my clients, friends, family, and everyone who continues to follow along with this little business of mine means more than I could ever properly explain.
I was definitely overdue for branding photos that truly felt like me and reflected this season of both my life and business, and Taylor Cecil took time out of her insanely busy schedule to make that happen for me. These photos feel fresh, intentional, and like such a good representation of the brand I’ve worked so hard to build. I’m so thankful for her and so excited to finally share these 🤍
