One of the reasons I love in-home family sessions so much is because they tell a bigger story than just what everyone looked like during this season of life.
Your home is where your kids feel safest. It’s where they play, cuddle on the couch, sneak snacks from the pantry, chase the dog through the backyard, and just get to be themselves.
And because they’re comfortable, parents are more relaxed too. There’s less pressure to perform and more space for genuine connection.
Years from now, you’ll notice more than the smiles in these photos. You’ll notice that phase when your kids were obsessed with Harry Potter, the family dog happily wagging his tail admiring his people, the backyard where summer evenings were spent, and all of the little details that quietly made up your everyday life.
Those are often the things we miss most once they’re gone.
