Hello I’m Rachel Langley Waters, the person behind Langley Media!

Before this part of my life, my work moved through scenic design, scenic painting, fine art, theatre, and film — all the places where color, texture, space, and feeling have to work together. That shows up in my footage and creative direction. I bring an artist’s eye and a branding-minded approach to photography and videography.

My work is warm, intentional, and focused on helping people feel comfortable while creating images that actually serve a purpose. I understand that most business owners aren’t just looking for “nice pictures.” You need photos that explain your work, support your marketing, fit your website, make social media easier, and help clients feel confident reaching out.

If you look back at where our Product & Process philosophy comes from, it all starts with a cup of coffee.

We were on the other side of the counter, managing a local shop, and we wanted more marketing materials to work with. We knew what social media would be the key to specials, sales, and trying new things, but the core pictures needed to be cohesive and show the spaces around the building.

And really, what a gorgeous building to pull from?! Bookshelves, greenery, natural lighting, aesthetic and charm just oozing out of every room. Stained glass!! And then JH Bards for some newly introduced coffee cocktails? I mean it was heaven for us creatively.

Your branding, your website, your social media, your emails, it should all work for you the way you need it. That starts with quality photos, we knew it then, we mean it now!

Your events should help your marketing team. Professional photography and videography should create years of usable marketing materials, future event graphics, annual report branding, and more.

The Women’s Leadership Conference with the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce is one of our favorite events to capture every year, and we know the marketing guy. He’s going to be using a lot of these photos. And I mean when your keynote is Lauren Sisler, getting dynamic shots is easy!

Congratulations to Langley Media on the ribbon cutting of their new studio space!

Langley Media tells businesses stories through photography and videography, with services including branding, portraits, products, events, and more designed to help businesses market themselves consistently. Their new home at The Studio Aspect adds another tool to that work. The creative studio provides a dedicated space for production work, while also serving as a rentable studio where other photographers, videographers, and creatives can bring their own ideas to life.

Opening a new space is a big step for any small business, and we’re proud to celebrate Langley Media as they continue investing in their craft, their clients, and the creative community of the New River Valley. Congratulations on this next chapter, and we look forward to seeing the stories, businesses, and ideas that are captured inside these walls!

This weekend has been a whirlwind!

We could not have asked for a better ribbon cutting, and we are so grateful to our family, friends, and community that came out in support. Thank you to everyone who stepped through our door to celebrate Langley Media and the opening of The Studio Aspect, and to those who may be cheering us on from afar, we appreciate your likes, comments, and other well wishes over the years.

The Studio Aspect is open, and looking for members to elevate, enhance, and expand! Langley Media is ready to showcase the pieces that make your business grow. And Waters Productions | SWVA Photography & Videography is continuing to capture all the personal moments that you want to keep.

Let’s talk more about food, because it’s Alan Waters favorite thing to take pictures of. That’s largely because he gets to eat it, usually. But also, because food carries with it more than just sight, or even taste.

Food creates community, and can be as simple as a salad, or the complex chemistry of baking. (Alan doesn’t understand baking either.) But showcasing the authentic food, the authentic you? That takes a special eye, and stomach.
