A moment you may have missed at the 2025 NSIM.

As many of you know, Mike Lufholm passed away during the 2024 NSIM Combined event while nearing the finish of the half-marathon segment. This year his sister, Rachel, ran the Half Marathon and carried Mike's 2024 race bib across the finish line with her, completing both her race and Mike's. Mike's wife, his beautiful baby girl, and his parents were there to cheer Rachel on.

I was happy to see them all at the last corner before the finish. As hard as the news of Mike's passing was last year, the smiles and tears of his family at this year's race were a balm. His spirit lives on in so many people whose lives he touched.

2025 NSIM PHOTOS: Yes, I took pictures this year, although fewer than in previous years. I will be posting pictures in the coming days of many half-marathon skaters coming up the 5th Avenue ramp, the start of the Tunnel 10K Run, and full-marathon finishers through most of Wave A. I'll be posting some favorites first and the remaining images in the order taken.
