Your wedding day is one of the fastest days of your life. You spend months, sometimes years planning every detail and then in what feels like a blink, it is over. The flowers are gone, the cake is eaten, the guests have gone home, and you are left with the memories of a day that changed your life forever.

That is exactly why the photos matter so much. They are how you get to go back. How you relive the way the room felt when you walked in. The look on his face when he saw you for the first time. The people you love most all gathered in one place, celebrating you.

Dakota and Kaylee, getting to be part of your story has been such a privilege! From your engagement session to your wedding day, you two were an absolute joy to work with. The love you have for each other shows up in every single frame and I could not be more honored to have been the one behind the lens for it all.

Wishing you both a lifetime of the same joy that was all over your faces on your wedding day. 🧡

Fall is right around the corner and it is hands down one of the most popular times of year for family sessions. Families love getting their photos done in the fall so they are ready in time for the holidays, and spots go quickly. Every year without fail.

I know the idea of wrangling the whole family for photos can feel overwhelming. The outfits, the schedules, the kids who may or may not cooperate on the day. I get it.

But here’s the thing… A little preparation goes a long way and it does not have to be complicated!

Things like timing your session around when your kids are at their best, coordinating outfits without overthinking it, and knowing what to bring to keep everyone comfortable can completely change the experience from stressful to something you actually enjoy.

And when everyone is relaxed and having fun? That is when the magic happens. Those are the photos that end up on your walls.

I put together a full guide on the blog breaking down everything you need to know to plan the perfect family session from start to finish. Whether you are a first timer or just want to make sure this session goes smoother than the last one, it is worth a read. Head to the link in bio to check it out!

And when you are ready to book, we would love to make it happen! 🙌🏻

When I say your senior session should show off who you are, this is exactly what I mean! 🙌🏻

Chapman came in knowing exactly what he wanted his photos to focus on: hunting, fishing, guitar, and football. So that is exactly what we did. We built his entire session around the things that make him, HIM!

That is what senior portrait photography should be. Not just a backdrop and a pose, but a genuine reflection of your personality, your passions, and this specific season of your life. When you look back at these photos ten years from now, you should be able to say that was me, through and through!

What made this session even more meaningful is that Chapman is not a new face around here. I have had the privilege of photographing his family when he was just a little guy and captured his sister's senior portraits a couple of years ago. Getting to be the one to document his senior year was something really special.

That kind of trust does not go unnoticed. Ever.

If you are a Chippewa Falls or Eau Claire area senior looking for portraits that actually feel like you, whether that is out in the woods, on the field, on a stage, or anywhere in between, we would love to make your dream senior session happen!

We’re now booking class of 2027 and 2028! So send us a message or head to the link in bio to explore our senior portrait packages and get on the calendar before spots fill up!

I’ve been playing around with double exposure edits lately and have been having so much fun with it!

When you think about it, so much of what we do as photographers is created for other people. We shoot for our clients, build galleries around their vision, and strive to document their memories in a way they will cherish. And there is so much beauty and purpose in that. It is genuinely one of the greatest honors of this job.

But somewhere in the middle of all of it, it is easy to forget to create for yourself.

To experiment, push boundaries, and try something outside of your comfort zone just to see what happens. This is how we as artists grow! How our style and skills evolve.

So to all my fellow creatives out there, let this be your reminder: Do not forget to create for yourself every once in a while. Your work will thank you for it.

And speaking of creativity, I want to hear from you. What is your art form? Whether it is photography, baking, painting, writing, dancing, or something else entirely, drop it in the comments below and tell me why that is where you feel most creatively alive.

Intimate weddings have been having a moment lately and honestly, it is easy to see why.

Fewer distractions, more presence, and just the people who matter most gathered together to witness two people commit to each other for life. There is something incredibly powerful about that.

As a photographer, I will tell you firsthand that intimate weddings are just as special to shoot as the big ones. When the guest list is smaller, the moments feel slower. The emotions are right there on the surface and there is nowhere to hide and nothing to rush through. You just get to be fully in it.

Lucas and Jessica’s day was exactly that. Quiet, intentional, and full of so much love. Every moment felt meaningful because every person present was exactly where they were supposed to be.

If you have been dreaming of something smaller and more personal, do not let anyone convince you that it is any less of a wedding. It is just a different kind of magic.

And we are here for all of it. 📸

Honestly, bridesmaid first looks are pretty underrated if you ask me.

Everyone talks about the groom’s reaction, and don’t get me wrong! That moment is everything. But there is something that just hits different watching a bride show off her wedding day look to her closest friends.

These are the women who have known her. Really known her. Long before the dress, the ring, and the wedding day. They have been there through the hard seasons, the late night phone calls, and every chapter that led to this one. And when they see her standing there, the reaction is always worth capturing.

As a photographer, those are the moments I live for. Sure, I love a perfectly posed photo, but the candid moments where nobody is thinking about the camera because they are too busy feeling everything at once are truly special!

If this one isn’t already on your wedding day shotlist, it should be. Trust me on this one.

From the accent colors, to the table settings, it’s always so fun to see how each couple personalizes their special day! ⁣⁣

Here at ASP, we believe that capturing the details is such an important part of photographing a wedding. Couples want to cherish every bit of their special day, and they are able to do that by having images to look back on that reflect every intricate detail, whether that be the centerpieces, the cake topper, or accessories they wore.

What sort of wedding details are your favorite to see? The wedding gown? The florals? The rings? Share below!

Anyone else miss the good ole days when posting just one individual photo on IG was enough? 🥲

08/04/2026

I photographed Evelyn when she was just turning one… covered in frosting, full of personality, and completely unaware of how much life was ahead of her. And just recently, I got to photograph her again at eleven years old, owning every second of her dance photos like the star she is!

Ten years in between. And somehow it felt like no time at all.

This is one of the greatest honors of this job! When families come back. When the little ones I photographed during their earliest milestones grow up and I get to keep showing up for them. Getting to watch kids go from birthday cake on their faces to graduating high school, or even getting married is something I will never take for granted.

To the Carlson family, thank you for continuing to trust me with your milestones. It means more than you know. 🧡

Whether it’s a big or small milestone, we would love to be there to capture it. Send us a message or head to the link in bio to book your session!

Oh you know…. Little bit a of this, little bit of that. 📸

I’ve never felt the need to niche down because I genuinely love documenting every season of life.

One weekend I’m capturing the joy and emotion of a wedding day. The next, I’m celebrating a senior ready to take on the world. Then I’m chasing toddlers through a field during a family session, photographing growing families, or helping someone feel confident in front of the camera for their branding photos.

Every session tells a different story, and that’s what keeps this job so exciting.

I don’t want to fit into one box because life’s biggest moments don’t happen in just one chapter. I feel incredibly grateful that I get to preserve so many of them!

So whether you’re planning your wedding, celebrating graduation, updating family photos, or simply wanting to capture this season of life, I’d be honored to tell your story. 🧡 Send me a message or fill out the contact form on my website!
