Private vows are one of my favorite parts of a wedding day by far. There’s no better thing to do if you’re nervous about speaking in front of a crowd, but you still want that beautiful moment together to convey your feelings and speak from the heart...without a hundred eyes on you! Private vows normally happen after a first look, which means you get to experience the joy of seeing each other (maybe for the first time on that day) and then having quiet moment to yourselves to express all the love and excitement you share because you’re about to get married! Definitely a welcome moment of peace and connection.⁠

A winter wedding throwback to Olivia and Matt’s frigid but beautiful day ❄️

Love is keeping each other warm through the coldest days, and especially if it’s your wedding day! ⁠

Olivia + Matt got married on a windy, snowy January day, but that didn’t stop the fun! They were troopers, and we braved the cold and the wind together on the hill where their wedding venue stood. They chose the beautiful and relatively new Meadow at Wheeler’s Mill and I can say that it was definitely an excellent choice! With a black and white theme that matched the beautifully bright and simple venue, the aesthetic was on elegant and on point.

Time really flew by in the last year. It feels like only last week I was out exploring the golf course with Caitlyn and Adin on their wedding day, and not 10 months ago! So here’s some snapshots of their beautiful July day. It was hot (thankfully not too hot considering it was July) with beautiful sunset light, cruising around on golf carts, and of course some Jeni’s ice cream!⁠

Where do I even begin? What a beautiful gathering of family and friends for Stephanie + Alfred’s dream of a day! It was a dream come true for me to shoot at the gorgeous slice of Hocking Hills that is Crockett’s Run, and to experience it with two humans who could not be better suited to each other. There’s magic between these two, and it’s evident that everyone who made the trip to support them thinks the same. You might even say it was “destiny” that these two fell in love,😉 and I couldn’t help but agree! Gamers fated to meet, and nature lovers after my own heart. When a couple finds me and they’re just as obsessed with being amongst the tall trees and waterfalls of Hocking Hills as I am, I know it’s going to be good... and boy was it ever.⁠

Just a little glimpse at what an elopement in Hocking Hills could be... A stroll through the woods and over bridges, creeks, and waterfalls. Looking up you’ll see tall trees reaching for the light, and rocks and cliff faces rising high above your heads. You can spend time taking in the beauty of nature together.⁠ Imagine bringing your closest family and friends to celebrate with you and stay in a beautiful cabin for the weekend... or not! You could always go solo, just the two of you, to celebrate this next step in your lives and I’d be ecstatic if you asked me to tag along to capture it all! ⁠

Bucket List Venue✔️ Unbelievable Couple✔️ Career Highlight✔️⁠

When Sam + Jim inquired about their wedding at the Monastery, I honestly squealed with joy! The Monastery had been on my venue bucket list for years, and I was convinced I might have to wait another 5+ years to get to shoot a wedding there. Luckily I didn’t, and I got to photograph the wedding day memories for such a kindhearted and genuine couple as these two! Truly a dream!⁠

From getting ready just down the street surrounded by supportive and excited friends, all the way to their energetic and packed dance floor at the end of the night, their day radiated so much joy and love! I had tears in my eyes at several points in the day, especially during their first look/private vows and during Sam’s emotional first look with her dad. Those are the moments that get me most often. Their day was so sweet and full of loving looks exchanged between the two of them. The ceremony was absolutely gorgeous and beautiful harmonious music filled the room courtesy of the talented musicians at .⁠

When I’m back in Chicago, I feel it✨⁠

If you would’ve told me at the beginning of 2023 that I’d be going to Chicago for work, I probably would’ve laughed in your face😄 But here’s proof, you never know what could happen! I had the pleasure of exploring the city and capturing some of my favorite photos of the year with an amazing couple and I’ll never forget it. ⁠

Being from a small town it was another world for sure, but it was an absolute highlight of my year pushing myself a little more outside my comfort zone than I normally do. I’m thankful for the sweetest clients who trust me enough to ask me to do things like this, and I’m so thankful for my amazing husband who is always up for another photography road trip!⁠

Edie - Senior 2024⁠

Hanging out with Edie for an evening last September was such a fun change from my usual calendar full of couples and weddings. I didn’t have as many senior sessions in 2023 as I have in years past, and I’m so glad Edie was one of them! I loved exploring one of my favorite Cincy parks, Alms Park, with her and chatting all about her senior year!

I’m so glad Lizzie and Isaac asked for their engagement session to be at one of their favorite spots, because it’s a beauty! Exploring Dawes Arboretum and getting to know them both was such a treat. The weather was perfect, the light was perfect, and I was in garden heaven!😍 Everywhere we turned there was another beautiful spot, which is what a photographer’s dreams are made of. I can’t wait to capture their love again this May!⁠
