Our story; His glory 🙌🏽
A testimony project ✝️

💛Meet Holly💛

✨ Please start with an introduction, include your name and any details you’d like to share about yourself.
-My name is Holly Smith, and I’m 47 years old. I’m a pastor’s wife and a teacher, Brett and I have 4 children, and I am a Mimi to two sweet granddaughters. I teach Visual Communication & Design at a career center, but one of the greatest passions God has placed on my heart is studying His Word. I love writing and designing Bible studies and encouraging women to open their Bibles, dig into Scripture for themselves, and discover just how deeply God wants them to know Him.

✨ What is something that lights you up?
-My family. My church family. Studying God’s Word. And seeing someone surrender their life to Jesus.

There is nothing quite like watching God change a heart and seeing someone realize that the grace, forgiveness, hope, and freedom found in Jesus are for them, too.

💛 What is one thing you hope people feel when they're around you?
-Loved. Seen. Safe. At peace. I want people to feel like they belong—that they don’t have to have everything figured out or put together. I hope they feel comfortable enough to simply be who they are and know they are loved right where they are.

💛 Once I was...
-Once I was lost, broken, overwhelmed, and anxious.

I felt like I had to have it all together. Like I had to figure everything out, carry everything, fix everything, and somehow find my own way.

✨ Then Jesus…
-Then Jesus called me.

I had always believed in God. Deep down, I think I always knew He wanted more for my life. But there is a difference between knowing about Jesus and completely surrendering your life to Him.

When I finally surrendered it all, everything began to change.

I realized the “more” I had been searching for wasn’t about doing more, achieving more, or becoming more.

It was Him.

He wanted my heart. He wanted my life. And He began showing me that my purpose was to serve Him and help others come to know Him, too.

Then, on April 28th, Jesus saved my life in a way I could never have imagined.

A medical procedure went terribly wrong, and what followed was miracle after miracle. When there was no strength left in me, He sustained me. When everything could have ended, He said it wasn’t over.

He brought me back to life—literally.

And I will spend the life He gave back to me telling others about the One who saved it.

✨ His glory shines through my story because...
-Because none of this is about me.

He guides my steps. His grace carries me every single day. Everything I have and everything I am belongs to Him.

God called me.

He redeemed me.

He forgave me.

He brought me back to life.

And He set my feet on a path with a purpose: to point others back to Jesus.

My story isn’t about what I survived.

My story is about the God who carried me through it.

That is His Glory.

💛 Someone reading this needs to know...
-The God who performed miracles in my life is the same God who sees you right now.

The Creator of the universe wants a relationship with you.

He sees you.

He knows you.

He loves you.

People will disappoint you. People will fail you. This life will bring things you never expected and circumstances you cannot control.

But Jesus will never fail you.

We all have a choice.

Choose Him.

Choose surrender.

Choose to stop trying to carry everything on your own and place it into the hands of the One who already knows the way.

Let Him lead you.

Let Him love you.

Let Him give you the peace you’ve been trying so hard to find on your own.

And let Him lead you all the way home.

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 4:7

My story, His glory 🙌🏽
A testimony project✝️

✨ Meet Hannah ✨

💜Please share your name and any fun facts about yourself you’d like to share.
-Hi, I'm Hannah.
I'm 29 years old, married to my soulmate of 10 years, and a stay-at-home mom to three amazing kids. My days are filled with homeschooling, making memories, and embracing the beautiful, ordinary moments that God has entrusted to me.

💜What is something that lights you up?
-What lights me up most is spending time in God's Word, laughing with my husband, and learning and playing alongside my children. I love being outside—whether it's taking a walk, soaking in God's creation, or helping care for the animals on our little farm. Between the chickens, pigs, cows, and our dogs, there's never a dull moment!

💜What is one thing you hope people feel when they’re around you?
-My hope is that when people are around me, they feel accepted, loved, and safe. I know I'm far from perfect, and I don't always love others as well as I should. But my prayer is that people leave feeling seen, understood, and reminded of God's love for them.

✨Finish the following sentences in your own words✨

💜once I was…
-There was a time when that wasn't true of me.

As a teenager, I struggled deeply with anxiety and depression. I often felt unseen, unloved, and desperately wanted someone to choose me. I wasn't always a good friend. I was selfish, hurting, and searching for something to fill the emptiness in my heart. I escaped into romance novels, longing for the kind of love where someone would "burn the world down" for the girl they loved. I wanted someone who would pursue me that fiercely.

What I didn't realize was that I already had Someone who had done even more.

💜Then Jesus…
-Then Jesus.
I first realized I needed Him while standing on Blue K**b Mountain in Pennsylvania. From that moment on, He began a slow, beautiful transformation in my life. It wasn't overnight. Patiently and faithfully, He has been shaping my heart into the woman He created me to be for His glory. He has never given up on me, never left me, and never stopped pursuing me. As I began spending more time in His Word, He opened my eyes to understand Scripture in ways I never had before, and through it, He has continued to grow me day by day.

💜His glory shines through my story because…
-When I look at my story, I see God's grace written all over it. He chooses to use imperfect people, and I am living proof of that. Even when I fail, He lovingly corrects me, teaches me, and keeps calling me closer. It is such a privilege to raise my children, pointing them to Jesus, and now to encourage other women through Rooted and Growing. Every step of this journey has been about becoming less of me and more of Him.

💜Someone reading this needs to know…
-If there's one thing I hope you take away from my story, it's this:
You already have the Hero your heart has been searching for.

Jesus is the One who pursued you first. He loved you enough to lay down His life for you. You don't have to clean yourself up before coming to Him. You don't have to be perfect. He welcomes you exactly as you are, and then, with incredible patience and love, He transforms you into the person He created you to be.

And as you walk that journey, you'll always have a sister in Christ in me.

You are deeply loved, fully known, intentionally chosen, and never beyond the reach of God's grace♥️

My Story, His Glory
A testimony project ✝️

Meet Emily💛

What is your name and list any facts about yourself you’d like to share-
✨ My name is Emily. I'm 29 years old and have been serving the Lord for over seven years. I'm married to my middle school sweetheart, and together we have one son who is almost 14 years old. I'm a hairstylist by trade, and in my free time I love to paint and spend time enjoying God's beautiful creation. I'm thankful for all God has done in my life, and I'm excited to continue growing in my faith and serving Him.

What is something that lights you up?
✨ What lights me up most is spending quality time with my family, painting, and being outdoors. Whether it's hiking, traveling, or simply taking in God's creation, those moments bring me so much joy.

What is one thing you hope people feel when they're around you?
✨comfort

Once I was...
✨Once I was overwhelmed by anxiety and depression. I lived with constant panic attacks and felt trapped by fear. I believed I wasn't good enough, that I was ugly, and that my life had no purpose. I felt completely alone, unseen, and like no one truly cared. I was searching for peace and hope, but I couldn't find them on my own.

Then Jesus…
✨ Then Jesus called my name in July 2019 at a little country church. Before the invitation, I prayed, "Lord, if they sing Just As I Am, I'll give my life to You." Moments later, they began singing that very song. In that moment, I knew God was calling me, and I surrendered my life to Him.
From that day on, everything changed. He instantly lifted the anxiety and depression I had been carrying, and He has continued transforming my heart and my life ever since. I am not who I used to be because of His grace, love, and faithfulness.

His glory shines through my story because...
✨ His glory shines through every part of my story. God has changed my heart in ways I never thought possible. He has made me more loving, more compassionate, and more patient. He gave me the strength to walk away from things that once had a hold on my life—things I never thought I could overcome.
His redeeming power is also seen in my family. He restored my marriage, saved my husband's soul, and delivered him from drug addiction. Today, our little family is together again, serving the Lord. My husband now serves as the youth pastor at our church, and we are both blessed to be involved in ministry.
One of the greatest joys has been watching God work not only in our lives, but in the lives of those around us. We've seen seeds that were planted through simple acts of faith grow into changed lives, and we've had the privilege of witnessing souls come to Christ. Every blessing, every victory, and every step of our journey points back to Him and His faithfulness.
"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us." — Ephesians 3:20 (KJV)

Someone reading this needs to know...
✨ Someone reading this needs to know that you were never meant to carry the burdens of this life on your own. Jesus invites you to come to Him and let Him carry what you cannot. He doesn't want you to feel alone. He loves you deeply, cares for you, and desires a personal relationship with you.
Giving your life to Him will be the greatest decision you will ever make. No matter how broken your situation may seem, God is able to bring beauty from the ashes and blessings from your mess. He is a way maker, a miracle worker, and nothing is impossible for Him.
If God has done it for someone else, He can do it for you too. There is hope in Jesus. Trust Him, call on Him, and "taste and see that the Lord is good" (Psalm 34:8). He is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you.
