There was a new record today. Columbus endured its 11th day straight of rain 😅
Sometimes we can make the rain work, and sometimes not.
If you want a true golden hour, a grassy field, or more formal-style photos, it’s best to reschedule. It’s very unlikely we’re going to get that on a rainy day.
Rainy days are for play! These sessions will take place near water, so if we get wet, it just goes. We will also utilize docks and beachy areas. Another great option would be for sprinklers or pools.
As long as it’s safe to do so, I’m all for it. Just know what to expect coming out of it. These won’t necessarily be your classic session, expect a mess and a whole lot of fun.
Some of my favorite sunsets ever have been on rainy days!
So…
1. Decide if you want more of a classic session or more of a fun editorial style session. If classic is your answer, then rescheduling is mine 😆
2. Pick a “watery” location. Beach, docks, pools, etc.
3. Wear appropriate clothes! Make it match the vibe. Get rain boots, umbrellas, rain jackets. All these things can work great and make your session flow.
4. Be ready for a lot of prompts! I won’t do much, if any “smile and look at me” style photos. 99% of these will be candid.
