Hi! I’m Emily! The 2026 wedding season is in full swing, & I’m spending my days chatting with 2027 couples, so it feels like the perfect time to drop the project I’ve been working on with .creative. A brand new website that feels a little more me ❤️🔥 This seems like as good a time as any for a little reintroduction.
I’m Emily, a Chicago wedding photographer who captures the big feelings and blurry in-betweens without pulling you out of the moment.
* I was born & raised in Minnesota, but have lived in Chicago for 13 years. My first Chicago apartment was directly above Sweet Mandy B’s and I get excited every time a wedding cake is from my fave place!
* When I’m not at weddings & sessions, I’m reading! I try to read at least 40 books a year (not counting audiobooks). I just finished reading Strangers by Belle Burden and just started The Names by Florence Knapp. If you’ve read them, let’s discuss!!
* I love to travel! I just got back from a 3.5 week trip to Australia, Bali, & Thailand (absolute dream trip) and my next trip already on the calendar is to Tanzania & Uganda in January.
* I teach Pure Barre at . Come take my class on Tuesday & Thursday mornings - I’d love to have you!
* I left corporate America on Valentine’s Day 2020 to take photography full-time (only fitting to take weddings full-time on a holiday all about celebrating love). Since then, I’ve photographed over 150 weddings and traveled as far as Italy, Germany, & Mexico with my couples to celebrate their wedding days.
* My motto is your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime day filled with your favorite people and all the big (and tiny) moments that matter. I’m not here to make it look perfect. I’m here to make it feel real. I believe in fun over formality & not sweating the small stuff. You don’t need a mile-long shot list or a “good side.” You just need someone who knows how to read the room, carry the timeline, and photograph the day like they care (and I do). You show up. I’ll handle the rest.
