Oh how quickly the ranunculus came and went. I was reading up on the Columbine flower and if the info was correct it is part of the ranuncules family. So is that the same? I’m not sure because one is spelled with an e and one with a u. Ah the internet so full of information and you’re not always sure if it’s accurate.

what’s the craziest thing that you have read on the Internet and then came to find out that it wasn’t actually true? And I’m not talking politics or religion or anything like that I’m just saying something just basic like you thought oh yeah that makes sense and then you look it up somewhere else and you’re like wait what. 🤷‍♀️

for me it was when we were watching an old movie and I looked up one of the actors and it said that this person passed away and then I come to find out that they actually didn’t. 🙈

I want to start this post by saying thank you to . I bought her book Picture Perfect Food and when I started reading the section about Light and Shadow it just clicked. I knew what I want from the light. Her book is filled with so much information and the challenges are just what one needs to get motivated.

If you have not bought this book and you are a food photographer I highly recommend it.

OK so now on to the photo. We have a bay window in our living room that lets in a lot of northern light. I used a black curtain and a brown curtain on either side and left a sliver of light in the middle. I positioned the chair on the left side in front of the black curtain and opened the brown curtain about 5 inches to let light come in from the side. It was the most beautiful light I have seen and I could not be happier with this composition.
