Apollo 13 is an iconic movie. But the real men and women behind the story is what is really amazing. We forget that it really happened. Three men, trapped in space. Hundreds of people on Earth trying to help them find a way to fix their CO2 system and survive the trip home.

Yesterday, I met Captain Jim Lowell (Photo 2) of the Apollo 8 & 13 missions. Jim is one of the few to ever see the earth from outer space, travel to the moon, and survive one of the scariest scenarios in space. This was a bucket list moment. So honored and happy to meet Jim. He’s super funny, and told lots of stories. If you ever get a chance to meet an astronaut and ask him questions, do it. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I am so grateful. @ NASA - Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX

to one of my favorite jobs to date. I was able to travel to Kalamazoo with some of my best friends to film at the factory. Heritage exists is the former factory. My dad came here in the 70’s with a guitar that I will own some day to get repaired. I was able to call him and hear his story of when he toured the factory and saw the same exact machinery. What an experience!

Working with friends leads to some of the worst arguments and the best memories. I’ve seen Seth walk through so many life challenges over the years and rise up above them. He was the first of our friends to get married, buy, a house, and start a family. He went first in so many ways and encouraged me to take so many risks that I’ll never regret. Thanks for being my brother and pushing me to grow when I needed it most. Cheers, brother!

The next person I want to highlight is the other half of “Team Tim,” Tim Van. He’s a motion graphics artist and editor from South Africa/New York.Tim has lived through more life at 24 than most of us have by that age and hasn’t quit. We should all follow his example by thinking beyond what’s possible, bringing positivity everywhere, and dancing WAY too much haha! Cheers brother!

Working with friends is one of the hardest and most rewarding things I’ve done as a filmmaker. You fight, bicker, and struggle because you both love the craft and want the best from one another. I have some of the most creative, talented, and loyal friends in the world. I’ll be posting about some of them this week. This one is about my friend . He’s a director and producer who just spent a challenging and growing year in LA working with Live Nation and is about to move back to Chicago to be closer to family, community, and take what he learned back home. Can’t wait for this dude to be here in Chicago to stay up all night making crazy videos and have a blast in the process. Cheers brother!
