Shots where products appear to be on the edge of movement are both simple and engaging. It puts the viewer on the edge of their seat, making them pause for just a moment to look. That pause is what we aim for, and it’s what brands need from their photography on social media. Images that make someone pause and remind them that your brand exists, jumping to top of mind. No Ai photography here. Just practical on-set styling and some background color changes.

Minimal lifestyles like this really let the product shine. The simplistic background makes it easy to add text and infographics or just let the product speak for itself. These versatile shots can be used in a variety of ways, including social media, e-commerce listings, website imagery, and ads.

Taking some time to appreciate how pretty honey is. The Wild Honey Lipcare set from Poppy & Pout was the perfect product for experimenting with it as a prop 🍯🌼. It glistens, it glows, and it moves slow enough to capture movement without special stop action setups. It’s overall super fun and easy to be creative with on set (We won’t talk about cleanup though 😅).

Hero shots don’t always have to be the standard straight on view with a white background. They can be bold and eye catching, like this image we created of sunglasses from SAINT OWEN to highlight the tortoise frames and gold accents. Shots like this are versatile too; they can be used as product listing images, banners, or social media content.

This necklace piece from Baetyl Fine jewelry is so gorgeous 😍 we just couldn’t resist taking a detail shot. For products like necklaces, you can’t see all the beautiful little details in a photo of the whole necklace. Close ups really are the best way to appreciate all the fine details and really see how the facets catch the light 💎💙✨

This is work we’ve done for Baetyl Fine jewelry over the last year. Classic e-commerce jewelry photography with crafted lighting to capture the facets and intentional retouching to bring out the brilliance in each unique piece.

Soooooooo have you guys heard of the pixel stretch trend??? It’s VERY fun! We made these effects by selecting a narrow colorful area of the image, stretching it to the extreme, then using the warp tool to get these wavy flowing shapes. For a little extra oomph, we added in some dimension with custom highlights and shadows. You can get super creative and just play around, making great shots for social media.

We had a lot of fun working on this set of images for Jenny Patinkin and her new mascara product. All in we did 5 total shots with a mix of hero and creative group images for a well-rounded PDP with options to choose from.

Something important about producing product photography is creating imagery that is flexible. Professional photos are a significant line item in the marketing budget, so you don’t want images that are confined to a single use case. One way to increase usage flexibility is with intentional framing, leaving enough space around the product for multiple crops. Doing so allows the image to be used for banners, PDPs, socials, and ads. We frequently get this request at Avenue3 and work with our clients to understand how the images will be used so we can produce flexible imagery.
