At one of our recent photographer meetups, we were discussing the strengths of long lenses. The way that the longer focal lengths compress three dimensional space allows for really graphically strong compositions. I think it was who said, if she could, she’d never take the 50mm off her camera.

Here’s an an amenity space I photographed for the folks at a few months ago. It was a very long space, and the client was more interested in shots that felt like vignettes, speaking to the inviting intimacy of the project. Every shot in the set is with either the 50mm or 120mm.
