After watching A Cold Sunday again, I realized the whole video was shot in a studio using a carefully designed, simple background, and I was surprised I hadn't noticed this before. The video’s minimalistic approach was a deliberate decision, allowing Yachty’s performance and the track’s melancholic energy to take center stage. Interestingly, it was shot in a single location, with very little movement outside the confines of the set. This choice was made to amplify the song’s introspective vibe. The muted color palette, which consists mostly of blues and grays, was designed to create a cold and distant atmosphere—fitting for the song’s mood. What caught my attention most was the choice of props: a vintage telephone, vintage record player, and other nostalgic items that subtly reference the feeling of longing and missing someone. The simplicity of the visuals enhances the emotion of the track, making the visuals and the lyrics perfectly align. The aesthetic was designed to contrast Yachty’s usual vibrant style, which is why this video stands out from his typical upbeat visuals.
