I’ve always observed people. The little quirks that make someone who they are.

Likely why I’ve always loved home videos so much. My favorite footage is from my grandpa’s old camcorder watching my aunts, uncles, and cousins as kids and realizing none of us have actually changed... like at all.

The same demeanors. The same expressions. The same inability to use an indoor voice (😅). We’ve just always been who we’ve always been.

I think that’s why my favorite moments are rarely the big ones. A wedding is of course about getting married, but it’s also about the people and relationships that made the day matter in the first place. Like the friend who acts exactly the same as they did in college or the aunt who’s somehow been running the dance floor since cocktail hour or the nephew who’s decided to choose his own adventure halfway through the ceremony.

And getting to document those personalities? The best part of the job!

When the whole family gets together, it never stays quiet for long!! Angela & Franco’s day was dripping with children, noise and chaos in all the best ways. Surrounded by SO MUCH LOVE, they were married in an intimate ceremony followed by a dinner party near their home.

This moment really got me.

Becky and David’s moms started the ceremony with a toast to the dads (their husbands), who couldn’t be there but whose presence was still very much felt. And somehow it didn’t feel super heavy, it just felt really genuine.

Honestly, I think it was the way they did it together. You can tell they’re actually close and the families just mesh and have each other’s backs. David’s mom forgetting to actually cheers them also helped 😅😂
