"It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which their body is capable." -Socrates

I read this quote today and was both inspired and challenged by it.

Truly our bodies are temples that house not only physical attributes but the spirit that dwells inside it. The way we treat our bodies says a lot of how we perceive the efficacy and even beauty of it.

There is a portion in scripture that not only invites us but demands of us to honor God with our bodies. For how we treat a masterpiece says a lot of how we feel about the artist.

We only get one temple. I only have one. I'd like to see the beauty of which it is capable of and honor my creator with it, along the way.

i kinda fell into photography + film. i’m sort of a late bloomer with my visual narrative skills. in many instances, i still feel like a rookie.
i’ve always been an artist however. i say that confidently. those who know me from my yester-years can bare witness to this. my life has always been lived through the lens of art + inclination towards the creative life.
we’re all creative. not only do i believe this, but know it. we’ve all been sprinkled with some glitter to create. we’re all creative.
i really believe that my calling is to be a creator and collect and tell stories along the way. i believe it’s all of our calling.
because this has always been how i’ve lived, God has blessed me with a life of continual storytelling work.
today it’s with a camera, tomorrow it may be through the books i write and the places, spaces and stages i’ll speak on and at.
i’m called to create and tell stories and i’ll never retire from it. how i do it may evolve but that i’ll do it just isn’t a question.
alright my friends, may we live today, a story we’d want to tell tomorrow.
now go make something!

Such good times spent with and and their brand new baby human.
I appreciated their desire to celebrate, not just the birth of their baby but also 10 years of love.
Part of their story has much to do with nachos so it was sweet to integrate it into our time together.
Storytelling sessions are my jam and I always feel honored to be welcomed into a space to capture some stories.

It’s not every day that I get to run into a shoe cobbler. However, I am fortunate enough to have one, here in my hometown.
Ernesto has taken on the family business and puts so much passion into his work. He’s an artist at his craft and creatively puts his hands to work.
So grateful to have spent some time with him. Not only is he an expert at his craft but an amazing human.

For the past month, we’ve worked on a campaign telling the story of the soul .
Within that time, we’ve had the opportunity to engage the students, talk with the staff and interact with the parents.
This is our final week there and it couldn’t be a more pivotal week for Frazier. There’s a real possibility that this school may close its doors, leaving hundreds of kids searching for a new school to call home.
We believe that as a people, we can create change by being the change. Our voice matters and our support speaks volumes.
The soul of a building is found within the people who dwell in it. We are grateful to have been able to get to know the people and tell the story of Frazier’s soul. May it’s story continue to be written by the students and staff who call this school, home.

I’ve been fortunate enough to meet coach Luis Alvarez. We live in the same town (Berwyn) and in our own ways, have a love for it.
Coach Luis offers basketball training sessions to a wide range of hoppers (my son being one of them).
His humble, yet confident demeanor brings out the best in people while meeting them where they’re at.
He also has a heart for humans and views his sessions as a way to contribute to humanity.
So happy to be connected with this champion. I believe this is just the beginning of his story!

Every face has a story, every space has a soul.
It’s my responsibility to discover the stories within and tell the stories without.
While doing some good work with , this pretty little girl stood in front of me without saying a word. It was obvious she wanted her picture taken.
But more than a picture, there is a story behind those eyes. There’s a narrative of innocence and gentleness and wonder and beauty within her soul.
I’ve been fortunate enough to live in such a way that as I search for stories, they actually end up finding me.
Every school has a soul and I am doing my best to connect with the soul of the humans at Frazier and sharing it with the world.
