(Backstory: Our bride Katie’s dad collects old boats; he drove the newlyweds around the lake before dropping them at the dock to greet guests at their camp-themed cocktail hour. How cool is that?!)

It was raining during the time we had allotted for Katie & Hugh’s portrait session, so we snuck inside the stable—a fitting Plan B, as the wedding took place at the bride’s family’s horse farm and there were nods to equestrianism throughout the decor (see slide 3).

The results were some of the most unique wedding portraits we’ve taken to date, proof that sometimes, the adaptation is even better than the original idea.
