another year around the sun and the 8th official anniversary of my first wedding 🫶🏼 it feels a little like fate that the first wedding i ever booked was booked on my birthday my first year in chicago.

i say it all the time, but i am the luckiest person that this is my job! i get to meet so many wonderful people, party with you all most weekends all over the city (shout-out summertime chi) and fill in the gaps with some travel to magical places and time spent with the best people!!

c+k are engaged y’all!!!!!

what better way to come off my posting hiatus than with a super gorgeous proposal from the other night at !!!

these two were the sweetest, and we spent our little bit of time together chatting all things chappell roan, moving to chicago from out of state, and life in lakeview (the best neighborhood, the proof is in the fact that so many of clients are also my neighbors lol)

i could’ve yapped with these two all night long, but they had a bunch of friends and family in town as part of the surprise for katie that i didn’t wanna make em late to🫶🏼

wishing you the two the absolute best and so excited to share part two soon with more from this gorgeous venue!!

nicole + pedro | part 1 | buckingham fountain proposal

ooooomg. what to even say about these two!!!! maybe i’m just extra emotional in june for some reason or maybe all my couples are truly the best—but add these two to the checklist of sessions i’ve cried happy tears at lol!

nicole’s sunday was turned upside down, going from thinking they were just headed to a wine tasting with friends to suddenly seeing pedro down on one knee in front of buckingham fountain. so many happy tears, SO much laughter between these two, and all around just the best time from start to finish.

seeing how surprised nicole was + how much thought pedro put into the proposal was the sweetest freaking thing, and how she managed to even stop crying for photos, idk!!!! i don’t think i stopped 🤣

part one (of probably so many) of madi and alex, whose gallery is still in the works, btw.

this was such a special session for a high school friend, back at the same location we did her senior pictures (before i had even touched a wedding!!!!), now back with her boo and decorated in the most perfect sunlight all evening long.

one of my absolute favorite things about this job is all the connections it brings me and people i get to meet. friends of friends, past client siblings, a family friend’s long distance bestie…the list goes on. sometimes this job takes me to california ( and ben i’m looking @ u!!!) and i plan an extra shoot with a stranger ( and ) who later introduce me to more cali people on my next trip ( and ) and i get to have so many laughs with new friends. florida friends who have chicago friends, and those chicago friends who tell their nyc friends about me.

BUT even better is that sometimes, rarely, this job brings me back to old connections, at home, in a place i almost never get to shoot anymore #—even though it’s where it all started.

so thank you madi + alex for trusting me with your photos ever since high school (feel old yet? lol) and for bringing me back to the place that will always be home ❤️

let the countdown to nov 2025 begin!!!!
