Eastern Screech Owl with one of the most interesting and creative backgrounds I've had the pleasure of shooting. Artificial lighting, landscaping, and a building made for the explosion of color in the background blur. One of my favorite photos of these birds to date.

I took advantage of one of the only snowfalls of the season in Chicago by spending an afternoon with this poor guy last week. Someone needs to be a bit more careful with how they maneuver the forest!

Luckily, it would appear his eye is back to normal after checking up on him this afternoon!

After a bit of a hiatus from Facebook due to a busy work schedule, I'm happy to be back posting. Fit in a bit of owling and birding when I could during November and December that I'm excited to share with you all!

Hope everyone had a happy holiday and a good start to the new year! First on the list, this gorgeous Short-eared Owl taken a couple days before Christmas day.
