Capturing elopements has easily become one of my favorite ways to document love. With no pressure of a strict timeline, there’s space to move freely and create something that feels true to you 💚

Terri and Mario snuck away for a Wednesday afternoon elopement at The Art Institute of Chicago. Their goal was authenticity and candid moments. We wandered, we celebrated, they shared a quiet mini ceremony, and even grabbed a few bites from the café along the way. They showed up with a “let’s wing it” kind of energy and honestly, that’s where some of the most meaningful imagery lives.

Thinking about a Chicago elopement or micro wedding? I’m here for it 🙃

Plop me in a garden venue and I’m instantly in my element 🌿

Fun fact: I stopped to buy sunscreen on the way to this wedding, applied a generous amount when I arrived… and still had considerate family members offering me more after the ceremony. This Irish skin is no joke, but I will risk the sunburn every time for you 😙✨

The sweetest afternoon with these two at Garfield Park Conservatory and Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary, the place where he proposed. Engagement sessions like this remind me how special it is to create art with people who were strangers just hours before. So much beauty and meaning in that ✨

Sweet baby Luca made his grand entrance, and I had the joy of documenting it. Being welcomed into such a tender and sacred season in a family’s life is never something I take lightly. One of my favorite parts was capturing Mom and Dad sealing homemade wine they’re saving for him to open when he’s of legal drinking age. How special is that?

These are the kinds of moments that stay with me, and they’re the reason I feel so lucky to do what I do 💚

These two didn’t just get married, they threw a party. So many firsts, but my favorite? Slamming the champagne bottle on the floor and officially kicking things off. This series displays proof that some of the best moments aren’t planned ✨♥️🍾

In December, I got to meet the whole Nowak crew after working with Rachel and Ryan over the years. They gifted their parents (the grandparents) with a session for Christmas, which always makes these times spent with families even more special.

If you know me by now, you know I like to keep it real with you. We can’t map out little one’s moods, but we can make the best of it and control our own energy by keeping a positive attitude. When you’re running on Christmas jet lag, that’s about all you’ve got. This crew showed up optimistic, and while the kids weren’t having it the entire time, we rolled with it and made the best of it anyway.

PS I always keep an unusual amount of blankets in my car, sometimes they come in handy. They’re washed between uses, promise. Big OG SpongeBob fan over here.
