Wishing you a Bootiful Day! Happy Halloween 🎃

The Chicago Lighthouse stands steady against a slate-blue sky, its pale tower and red roof set above turquoise water and jagged rocks. The practical details and the moody atmosphere feel grounded and contemporary, a quiet piece that adds maritime presence without overwhelming a room. I can see it working well in a living room, study, or entryway. See it here: https://shop.karenihirsch.com/warehouse-open-edition-prints/art_print_products/090717_mac_0351

One late-autumn morning at the Morton Arboretum the pond was unusually still. A solitary tree blazing crimson caught my eye, its reflection doubled on the glassy water while a low branch of lemon-yellow leaves reached into the foreground. The soft, cool light kept the scene calm, so I thought this fall scene at the Morton Arboretum might make a quiet, grounding accent for a living room or office. Are you ready for Halloween? 🎃

I made these photos at the Chicago Botanic Garden all dressed up for this spooky holiday.

I wanted to share a scene from Gold Canyon: three cowboys on the Don Donnelly Ranch galloping across sunbaked ground, dust kicking up behind them. The energy feels honest and grounded, the kind of image that livens a hallway or study without being loud. It’s available as a 36 x 24 metal print with inner frame backing. USA gymnast Frederick Richard earned gold on his floor exercise at the 2026 Artistic World Championsip in the Netherlands. He is the first American man to win world gold on floor since Paul Hamm in 2003.

Skye Blakely took gold in the women’s All-around.

I made these photos of Frederick Richard At the Olympic trials in Minneapolis in 2024. He appears to defy gravity.

I call this one Happy Flower. It’s an Abstract - Daisy Design that brings clear, lively energy to a room. I like that the bold geometric petals and bright contrasts read well from across the room and keep your eye engaged up close. Saw this and wanted to share it with you. US Navy Thunderbirds ascend in formation into the sky, the tight formation and crisp contrails give it a clean, energetic feel. It’s a piece that adds motion and focus to a room. Take a closer look here: https://shop.karenihirsch.com/warehouse-open-edition-prints/art_print_products/160819-air-show-426-crop-full

I spent a glorious day at the Chicago Botanic Garden over the weekend. The weather cooperated nicely. The geese were playing “follow the leader.”

I wanted to share a scene I brought back from a New Zealand spring. Rows of pale poplars rise from fresh green meadows, foothills climb into layered mountains, and bright new leaves sit against cool shadowed hollows. It feels calm but alive in a steady way. Where do you go to reset when you need a little quiet? See it here: https://shop.karenihirsch.com/warehouse-open-edition-prints/art_print_products/231006-new-zealand-100-full
