Olney Theatre Center is back, in person, with The Thanksgiving Play. Allyship can be tricky, my friends - it's good to have a laugh about it at our own expense. These people know how to be funny! Go see!

Opening this week at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, live and in person, is Teenage Dick - now, straighten up and fly right - it's a retelling of Shakespeare's Richard III, set in a contemporary high school. It's clever, and funny, and poignant, and very well acted. If you're ready to get back into a theater (one taking all manner of precautions, naturally), I recommend checking it out.

I turned 50 during the quarantine. Then I turned 51. Now, here I am, gradually rejoining the world, and feeling like I'm coming out of this on the other side of my life. And I have had every possible feeling about that.

I think I'm a little gentler, a little better at taking care of myself, and still wholeheartedly interested in using photography to help my clients celebrate themselves, their children, their work, their lives.

I showed my son Hal, with some dismay, the tiny bit of gray hair you see in this photograph, at my temple. He said, "No, Mom, this is awesome! This is just the beginning of your superhero swoop!"

I'll take it, kid.
