When one of your best friends asks if you're available for family photos in October, the answer is always yes!

Even if heavy rains and high winds recently took out a good percentage of fall colors, we still had a gorgeous morning for pictures on their family friends' beautiful acreage. We even got to play in the leaves and the boys got to take some pumpkins home!

Just wrote a blog post for the first time in over 4 years! Thanks for letting me blabber on about stuff.

When my last blog post dropped in January 2022, there was a tiny little Titus doing backflips and parkour in my belly. Anyway, he's 4 now and the sweetest little menace we ever did meet. He has Sam's eye color and eyelashes and got everything else from me - good, bad, or otherwise.

From the stunning florals to the national park-inspired decor and all the surprise photo opportunities that came up along the way, every detail of Elizabeth and Mike's wedding last weekend was full of heart and the unique touches that make them who they are. Their wedding was packed so full of personal touches and poignant moments - like sharing the father-daughter dance with her parents' old hired man and her dad serenading them with 'I Loved Her First' - that they might just have the biggest photo gallery I've ever delivered after a wedding!

I had fun photographing this hardworking farm family last weekend along with their colorful herd of dairy cows! These folks have a lot of irons in the fire but at the end of the day family means everything and I think that's pretty evident.

When I pulled into the driveway for this family's session and saw a cow and a springing heifer tied to the skidsteer I might have squealed with delight! The Willes are one of the sweetest families I've ever met and their Registered Holsteins are equally as lovely. They love their cows and they love each other, and you can't ask for a heck of a lot more than that!

On top of that, the weather was perfect with just a kiss of fall color starting to peep through!

We managed to sneak in an extended family session alongside Morgan's beautiful senior photos last weekend! Gosh, I love these people. Every time we get to see them, which is never often enough, my face and sides hurt from laughing when we leave.

Those pictures with just Jeff and Michele are absolutely swoonworthy, too! I always try to get a picture of just the parents/grandparents when doing family photos - after all, when's the last time your mom and dad had their pictures taken without kids?

Sweet Morgan ❤️

Getting to do some fall senior pictures for this doll was an absolute delight! Our families have been close for over a decade now; my husband and her uncle are AGR brothers and very best friends, and the Raethkes are some of the most wonderful folks you could ever hope to meet.

Johnson Photography did a phenomenal job with her summer session so I had pretty big shoes to fill. I hope Morgan had as much fun as I did - it meant the world to me to capture just a teensy tiny bit of her senior year and the things she loves, even if it rained just about the entire time!

You're going to go far, kid. ✨

It was an honor to spend Saturday night at Doing It Wrong Dairy in Gilman, Wisconsin to capture Jeff Corle's latest stop on his Barnstorming Tour of America to raise awareness for farmer mental health and su***de prevention. If you've been around here a while, you know mental health is something I care deeply about. Jeff has built quite the following since releasing his original song, 'Empty Barn', in 2022 after selling his dairy cows.

His opening act was no slouch, either! Nebraska's own Grant Kubie made the trek up to Taylor County and charmed the audience with covers of country hits spanning several decades. That dude is one of us.

The barn herself has quite the story to tell, too. Tristan Swartz (proprietor of Doing It Wrong Dairy) purchased this farm from his late neighbor and mentor, Tom Victory, and he himself has built a massive following on social media. Tom passed away a couple of years ago and Tristan has been putting in a lot of hours restoring Tom's barn to her former glory.

Sometimes, when I'm feeling a little blue, I grab the camera and hop in the gator and head out to the pasture with a close eye on the setting sun. The magic that followed all but cured what was ailing me.
