Some never-before-shared highlights of my 2024 summer and fall seasons 🍁

I rounded out the year photographing some special engagements, families, and street photography. And bonus: scroll to see my favorite shoot of the year that I didn’t get a chance to share — the ordination of a close friend of mine back in June!

I’m looking ahead to 2025 and can’t wait to capture some beautiful memories for the couples + events who booked with me, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention my thanks and congratulations to all the amazing couples, families, and friends who trusted me to capture their treasured moments this year.

You all are truly such a blessing, and please know of my prayers for you as we enter into the exciting newness of this New Year! ✨

A little NYE message for you…

2024 brought some bucket list trips that I didn’t anticipate back in January, from Crested Butte to Napa Valley, and it really ignited in me a flame of excitement for travel again.

The New Year can be intimidating and New Years Eve especially can be an emotional day, but I’m choosing to focus on what I can control and what I’m excited about for the New Year. What’s something you’re looking forward to in 2025? Something that brings a smile to your face whenever you think about it? Focus on that, and let that carry you into this New Year with hope.

Know of my prayers for a blessed New Year, and thank you all for your support throughout this year and always 🤍📸

In 2024 I tried something new…

And by new, I mean old 😉 Film photography is back in style, and for good reason. Though I had experience with film in school, I had never shot color film before, and it truly changed the game for me this year in both weddings + landscapes (more on that later).

What I love about film on a wedding day is it naturally lends itself to what photography is meant for: capturing memories that will last a lifetime. The vintage feel adds to the timelessness of the memory, especially with candid photos, and while it’s definitely nerve racking as the photographer (I’ve already had my fair share of blank rolls…), the payoff is more than worth it, especially once you get the hang of it.

You may have noticed I haven’t been posting lately, and I’ve been limiting my shoots this season to try to find a work-life balance (if it exists 😅). But film photography has helped me hone my craft in the meantime, and truly led me to fall in love with photography as a hobby again, which I’m so grateful for.

All this to say, don’t forget to reinvest in your hobbies in the new year — you never know what new life they’ll breathe into your everyday ☺️

Making choices for your Catholic wedding ceremony? This one’s for you👇🏼

This summer marks the start of Year 2 of my grad school program in Theology, and this semester I’m gearing up to take a course all about the Catholic Mass.

Saying I’m excited is truly an understatement. 🤓

I signed up initially because it aligns so well with the work I do in campus ministry full-time at my high school. But as I reflect on it, it offers much more than that (and abundance is how God operates, amiright?).

The more I learn about liturgy and the Sacraments, the more deeply I can support my couples as they prepare for marriage, and practically as they make decisions for their Catholic wedding Mass. From readings to music to even the prayers that are chosen, there is so much goodness to soak in within every Mass, but especially the Sacrament of Matrimony. And believe it or not, even in a Catholic Mass, there are so many ways to make it unique to your story as a couple.

One of my favorite things about this job is spoiling my couples + anticipating their needs, and I’m so excited for the resources I’ll be able to provide my current + future couples thanks to this course. Keep me in your prayers as I start another semester, and please know you’re always in mine! 🤍

Just be.

During our shoot earlier this summer, Amanda + Zach took that motto totally to heart. Halfway through our shoot, we found ourselves along the Charles River at a weeping willow tree, so I queued up a favorite song of theirs and they danced + swayed under the branches as if no one else was around.

But you know what I heard?

So many people walking along the path caught a glimpse of their moment and couldn’t help but say “aww.” It was seriously like something out of a movie.

We are so attracted to the real, authentic, and genuine. This could be my recent reading of the Ruthless Elimination of Hurry or the start of my 6th year teaching talking, but how often do we pause in the busyness of our lives and rest, breathe, and be present? The Lord’s been teaching me a lot about rest these past few months, and A+Z are such a beautiful image of being unhurried and present in the moment, as I want to be.

As the summer winds down, how are you finding time and space for rest? Let me know below 👇🏼

Give me all the red brick houses + cobblestone streets ♥️

Amanda + Zach’s session in Boston was one for the books — and not just because they met in grad school at BC 😉 All jokes aside, these guys were troopers, ready to walk through so many streets in the summer heat and never losing steam.

I’ve absolutely adored getting to know these two over the past year. They’re both so comfortable in who they are and they bring out the best in each other, even in Boston Friday night traffic jams…

I can’t wait to be back in the city in February to photograph their winter wedding ❄️ Get ready to see some shots of BC in the snow as they head down memory lane! Did anyone else meet in college or grad school? Let me know below 👇🏼

A toast to the GOATs 🥂

As I prepare for another summer in Boston, I’ve been reflecting lately on how grateful I am for the friends that the Lord has placed in my life in this season, so I thought what better way to celebrate than to show off some of my favorite shots of besties doing their thing at weddings?

Pro tip for couples: Don’t forget to add bridal party photos to your shot list to make sure you get all the pics with the people that helped form you + your person and will continue to support you in your marriage!

Bonus: Scroll through to the end and you may see someone you recognize 😉

Talk about a girl power moment 👊🏼

Mirielle + Nathanael had one of the classiest days I’ve ever had the privilege of capturing. From their gorgeous wedding Mass and full choir to a reception space draped floor-to-ceiling in flowers with a view of Pike’s Peak and the Springs, guests were in for a treat from start to finish.

The day was also full to bursting with all kinds of beautiful, emotional moments (shoutout to for capturing so many special ones!). One of the best and most unexpected of these moments happened during the reception when M+N were stepping onto the dance floor for their first dance.

Mirielle, as the absolute boss that she is, recently graduated with her doctorate *while also planning a wedding* (wild, I know!). So, when the couple was announced as “Dr. and Mrs. Leonard,” you can imagine how frustrating that would be. But, from the dance floor, holding the hand of her new husband, she calmly turned toward the DJ booth and said with all authority, “Actually, I’M Dr. Leonard.” And the entire room erupted in applause, as they should 🙌🏼

Definitely one of those unexpected but powerful moments on a wedding day that still gives me chills. Have you had any moments like that at weddings? Let me know below 👇🏼

Happy Mother’s Day 💐

We love a day that celebrates the strength + beauty of women.

The first two photos here from Kaytee + Nik’s big day make me think of the mother figures in our lives, from our moms to our mentors to Mother Mary. Personally, these women in my life have carried me through so much (love you, Mama!), and I’m especially grateful to Mary for how she’s held my heart in a special way this year 🩵

Whoever those strong women are in your life, don’t forget to reach out and let them know what they mean to you, and celebrate them every chance you get!

What’s your go-to gift for your mother? Let me know below! 💐 🍫 🤗

One more of these two because I can’t help it 🥰

Today’s Gospel was all about love, and in his homily, my priest encouraged us to love God with agape, a self-sacrificial love, especially by the way we treat those around us. That’s one of the things I look forward to most about weddings — they’re a representation of the couple’s love for each other, but also unified with Christ’s love for us on the cross.

Kat + Luke are getting me so pumped to celebrate more awesome couples this year + next. Gimme all the love 👏🏼

This shoot is also reminding me so much of Boston, and I can’t WAIT to be back in the city in just over a month. Be ready for some more city content where this came from, folks!

Where would you want your engagement session to be, the mountains or the city? Let me know below 👇🏼
