Summited Lassen last month. Watched lightning/thunderstorms circle around the valley as we hiked up. It was quite the sight. Couldn’t have asked for better weather with it being overcast. Also, pro tip: if you want an excuse to take breaks, bring some kiddos with you, they will ask for a break for snacks or water every other switch back. Makes you feel less out of shape. Hah.
