“Some journeys are measured in miles. Others are measured in moments—when mountains disappear into rain, sunrise awakens ancient stone, and wildlife reminds us we are only visitors. These are the moments I chase, one shutter click at a time. My hope is that through these images, you’ll feel like you were there too.”

Day 5 off the grid started long before sunrise with a journey to Wheeler Geologic Area. After exploring this incredible wilderness, we spent the next 24 miles making our way back to pavement. The adventure didn’t end there—on the drive back to my friend’s home, towering thunderstorms rolled across the mountains, creating some of the most dramatic skies I’ve ever photographed. Days like this remind me that the best landscapes are often found far beyond the end of the road.
