The Historic Village of Chester Train Station (1915 Erie Railroad) This view is from what’s now the paved Heritage Trail, where the tracks once ran.

I took this photo in winter 2025, right at the tail end of a snowstorm. Walking up to the station, I kept thinking about how many stories these walls have seen leading back to the underground railroad.

I don’t usually sell things from this page, but I turned this image into a limited run mug for anyone who loves local history (and warm drinks).

The best part of wildlife photography?

Just when you think you've seen it all, nature surprises you.

Today's surprise: a Louisiana Waterthrush , First time crossing paths.

Despite its name, this little songbird isn't limited to Louisiana. It prefers fast moving, wooded streams, where it constantly bobs its tail while searching for insects along the water's edge.

This is yet another day example of a species that relies on our streams and dense wooded areas. We need to protect these spaces when possible.
