PARENTS OF RISING SENIORS: READ THIS BEFORE SENIOR YEAR GETS AWAY FROM YOU.

You think you have time.

Graduation is months away. They just started senior year. There are games to attend, homecoming dresses to find, college applications to finish, holidays to celebrate.

And then somehow, you’re standing in their bedroom surrounded by boxes, wondering how you got here so fast.

Senior year doesn’t go slowly.

It disappears.

And somewhere between “I can’t believe they’re a senior” and “How are we already at graduation?” you realize that this is the last year they’ll ever be exactly who they are right now.

That’s why senior portraits matter.

Not because you need another picture of your kid.

You already have thousands of those on your phone.

You need this version of them preserved.

The confidence they’ve grown into.
The little expressions you’ve known since they were five.
The person standing in front of you who somehow looks completely grown and still like your baby at the same time.

Trust me, I’m living it.

I’m packing cars and moving my twins into their universities, and I can tell you that all those people who said “it goes so fast” were right.

I would give anything to slow it down.

I can’t.

But I can photograph it.

And someday, when their bedroom is a little too clean and the house feels a little too quiet, those photographs become a whole lot more than senior pictures.

Don’t wait until senior year is almost over to realize how much you want to remember it.

Your rising senior is already becoming the person they’re going to be.

Let’s make sure you never forget the person they are right now.

You mean to tell me that I'm just supposed to raise you for 18 years, teach you all the things life has to offer, and then drop you off at college, and just... watch you walk away? Like... that's how this works??

I've spent 18 years teaching you how to live without me... but no one taught ME how to live without the both of YOU.

Allow me to **REintroduce myself…**

Hi! I’m Ashlie, owner of Ashlie Steinau Photography in Cheshire, CT.

I’m a photographer, storyteller, and firm believer that the moments and people that matter most deserve to be remembered, not just on a screen, but in a way you can hold onto for generations.

📸 **I specialize in telling stories through photography**, from storybranding sessions that help businesses connect with their ideal clients, to high school seniors, children, maternity, and families through every season of life.

One of my greatest passions is creating heirloom albums and custom wall art. Photos shouldn't live forever on a phone or hard drive. They should become tangible pieces of your family's story that you can see, hold, and eventually pass down.

That’s why every custom portrait session is designed as a **full-service experience**. We begin with a personal consultation where we plan your vision, styling, and wardrobe down to the details. Your experience also includes professional hair and makeup, followed by a private viewing with me where we choose the images that best tell your story and decide how you want to enjoy them in your home.

But photography is only one part of my story.

I’m also deeply involved in Connecticut’s foster care community in District 6. Over the last three years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for 13 children, and fostering has forever changed my heart and my life.

Being able to provide a safe, loving place for a child during some of the scariest and most uncertain moments of their life is something I will never take for granted. I’m incredibly grateful to be that in-between safe place.

Whether I’m preserving a family’s memories, helping a senior celebrate who they’ve become, bringing a business’s story to life, or opening my home to a child who needs somewhere safe to land, so much of what I do comes back to the same thing:

I thought FOR SURE we were going to get rained out. But we yelled up at the clouds when it started sprinkling and said JUST GIVE US 20 MINUTES!!!
And it stopped... And the universe gave us THIS!!!
