Each year we dedicate one monthly competition to Planet Earth to show gratitude and celebrate its richness, complexity, and generosity – as well as, sadly, the damage we as humans sometimes wreck on it.

But many photographers dedicate their entire careers and lives, for that matter, to our planet. They gently and artistically remind us we are not separated from the world. We are the world. Over on our Journal, we've selected seven photographers - one working on each continent - who've inspired us with their dedication to documenting the beauty of our shared planet.

Europe - Charlie Waite.

British photographer Charlie Waite is one of the originals. His career spans over four decades and encompasses exhibitions, lectures, photographic workshops, and awards. Waite captures the calmness of our planet, the stillness, the grace, like no one else. His photographs are mindful, almost spiritual, and remind us of our undeniable connection with nature. He makes us aware of the presence, the essence that needs no boundaries, language, or action. It simply is.
