Yesterday was such a special day! The kids got to meet Apollo and experience the magic of horsemanship up close. Before the excitement of riding, they learned the essential steps that go into caring for a horse — a reminder that the bond starts long before the saddle.
We’ve discovered a few things: Cade enjoys the experience, but it’s not quite his thing (at least for now). Maxton, despite his love for horses, isn’t sure it’s something he wants to pursue regularly. Aya’s still undecided. But Nika — oh, Nika! Her obsession is real. She’s been showing so much interest lately and now wants to go beyond riding… she wants to compete.
Looks like we might be entering a whole new era — and I can’t think of a better place than Arizona for her to chase this dream.
It was a long, hot afternoon, but my heart is full. Watching my kids explore new passions brought back so many memories of my own childhood rides.
