Downtown Council Chamber Gifts $1,000 to Support Partnership for Families, Children and Adults During Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Chattanooga, TN β October 3, 2024 β In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Downtown Council Chamber Board has gifted $1,000 to Partnership for Families, Children and Adults. This generous donation will directly support the organizationβs domestic violence programs, which provide critical services to individuals and families impacted by abuse.
In fiscal year 2024, Partnership answered 1,503 crisis hotline calls, provided 13,487 safe bed nights, and supported 1,731 survivors and their children through its comprehensive domestic violence programs. These services, which include a 24/7 crisis hotline, emergency shelter, counseling, and advocacy, are offered at no cost to those in need. The Downtown Council Chamberβs contribution will ensure that these life-saving services continue to be available to survivors.
Partnership's domestic violence services play a vital role in helping survivors rebuild their lives. One survivor shared, "Being kicked out by my abuser felt like the end, but it was actually the beginning of a new life. At the shelter, I found the help and support I needed to rebuild. My case worker provided unwavering guidance and comfort throughout my journey, and the counseling I received played a crucial role in my healing. Today, my child and I have found safety, stability, hope, and a future I never thought possible."
Hollie Floberg, President of the Downtown Council, remarked, "The Downtown Council is honored to support Partnershipβs vital work, especially during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We believe in standing alongside survivors, and our contribution reflects our commitment to helping individuals find safety and rebuild their lives."
Leah Gravitz, Assistant Director of Victim Support Services at Partnership, shared, "This gift from the Downtown Council Chamber Board comes at a crucial time. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and this support helps us continue to offer survivors a safe place to heal and rebuild their lives. Every donation strengthens our ability to be there for families in crisis."
