Last week we finally re-launched our printed newsletter. I always heard from clients that they enjoyed getting the newsletter. Perhaps they were just blowing smoke but I tend to take people at their word and it is a good way to stay in touch. I decided to commit to doing a printed newsletter as all of us get so much junk email and many of my clients have said they prefer to have something real and tangible in their hand. Working on the next issue for April and look forward to sharing stories and what is going on at the studio.

For those who didn't receive a copy(perhaps we don't have a current address) here is a link to the online version. Of course, feel free to share!

Just heard the news that a local radio celebrity Gene Lovin has passed. A few years ago had the privilege of working with him and his wife. We were creating a portrait for the American Heart Association as he was the honoree that year. It was so much fun hearing his broadcast stories and interacting with him and his wife.

The last couple weeks I have been creating portraits for 2nd generation clients. Here is an interesting comparison. In the earliest one Braden is 3 years old and the one from yesterday he is 16. Grandma thought it would be a neat comparison (she does the grandkids at 16) so we dressed him to coordinate the portraits. Of course we did several other portraits for mom and dad.

For the last couple weeks I have been crazy busy with some great sessions. Thought I would share a portrait for a client that is a second generation one. What a blast to work with the children of children I created portraits of, when they were young! We had a beautiful evening and the temperature was perfect, the kids were awesome (spoiled with so many well behaved children lately).

Downtown Council Chamber Gifts $1,000 to Support Partnership for Families, Children and Adults During Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Chattanooga, TN – October 3, 2024 – In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Downtown Council Chamber Board has gifted $1,000 to Partnership for Families, Children and Adults. This generous donation will directly support the organization’s domestic violence programs, which provide critical services to individuals and families impacted by abuse.

In fiscal year 2024, Partnership answered 1,503 crisis hotline calls, provided 13,487 safe bed nights, and supported 1,731 survivors and their children through its comprehensive domestic violence programs. These services, which include a 24/7 crisis hotline, emergency shelter, counseling, and advocacy, are offered at no cost to those in need. The Downtown Council Chamber’s contribution will ensure that these life-saving services continue to be available to survivors.

Partnership's domestic violence services play a vital role in helping survivors rebuild their lives. One survivor shared, "Being kicked out by my abuser felt like the end, but it was actually the beginning of a new life. At the shelter, I found the help and support I needed to rebuild. My case worker provided unwavering guidance and comfort throughout my journey, and the counseling I received played a crucial role in my healing. Today, my child and I have found safety, stability, hope, and a future I never thought possible."

Hollie Floberg, President of the Downtown Council, remarked, "The Downtown Council is honored to support Partnership’s vital work, especially during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We believe in standing alongside survivors, and our contribution reflects our commitment to helping individuals find safety and rebuild their lives."

Leah Gravitz, Assistant Director of Victim Support Services at Partnership, shared, "This gift from the Downtown Council Chamber Board comes at a crucial time. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and this support helps us continue to offer survivors a safe place to heal and rebuild their lives. Every donation strengthens our ability to be there for families in crisis."

If you or someone you know needs help, call Partnership's 24/7 crisis hotline at 423-755-2700 or text 423-356-3620 for free, confidential support available.

One of the portraits we created after coming back from that inspirational trip.

In today's hyper saturated world of images that are swipe worthy, creating a portrait with impact, meaning and showcasing what you value and who you love is more important than ever.

Looking for some ancient files and came across this PR image of yours truly from 1991. Except for the mustache you wouldn't be able to pin this image to a particular date(if you didn't know me now)! Classic portrait images are timeless.
