“AI is coming for your job”
I truly don’t believe that.
Photographers are not tripods.
They are…
creative directors
they’re your biggest fan
your hype girl
your therapist
your stylist
your move-your-hair-out-of-your-face to get the perfect shot.
Artificial Intelligence is just that…. Artificial.
It can’t replace that nervous and excited adrenaline that comes from getting ready for your photoshoot. Picking out your outfit, getting your nails done, connecting with your photographer and bouncing ideas back and forth.
When you look back at your gallery, you will see *you*. Not only that, but you will look at your gallery and you will remember the laughter, the connection, the stories unveiled, the chats, the things about your photographer that you found out while she was setting up a different shot. Like that she has a little spotted dog named Moo because she’s black and white like a cow. and that maybe you both have the same favorite coffee shop.
On the photographer side of things, it is truly something that fills my cup. On my lowest days, a photoshoot is something that can bring me back up from the trenches. So if AI ever really does take my job…. (which.. it won’t. Because there will always be those who value human connection.)
You will find me still shooting away, creating, connecting, just for the joy of it.
What do you think? Do you think AI will ever completely take over the photography industry?
