I am still here and still waiting for my pain to subside and I woke up with lower back nerve pain. Beautiful. Yay👀
Instead of me explaining the pain and being all whiny -I got up thinking about my acquaintances and friends and family that have it so much worse -from colitis and Graves disease to breast cancer to stomach, liver, non-Hodgkins -Lymphoma and leukemia-to a tumor that my friend has actually nick named ( I can’t tell you the tumors name since he is in witness protection) .
From shingles on peoples faces to their eyes to their privates. COPD to heart attacks to strokes this is what they all are dealing with in the last 6 months. And let’s not forget depression- a really painful disease that can be as deadly as anything else I have listed. So why don’t we all thank God for the Beckys, the Plunks, the Bobbi Jos and my Mom and Dad- and all the others I listed who lead with such a positive attitude… I could not get through this little blip on my radar without them leading the way with their life threatening battles for all to see.
Mine is but a scuffle compared to theirs and I thank God everyday that I know them and for placing them in my life along the way. From kindergarten to college to my place of work and back the real heros!
So one more time get your shingles vaccine and look at your neighbor, your friend, your family member that embodies Joan of Arc! Being brave is not a gift -it is faith in something bigger than yourself.
So don’t just stand there-pick up your sheild. They have.
