Atmosphere is a good, all-encompassing word for it— chasing to capture the way your place feels, the way your people move through it and the way your memories will settle into it. The energy of the day, the speed with which you move sets the tone of how we move together.
Layered imagery with a variety of formats like this gallery- from candid and lived-in to intentionally directed- meant having a supportive media team that allowed me to play creatively (which often leads to my best work), because I know I can lean on them to get the technical, “safe” shots- but this means having enough people to do that. It also meant having an awesome drone operator - thank you .photos for being an awesome second and droner! It meant foregoing a lot of the formal, traditional ceremonies and micro-events you see within a typical wedding in order to be wholly present and immersed in their day with their people- this couple came from Canada to Georgia and brought people from all over the world, this was their main priority. It meant slowing down, it meant having me there with no expectations of time constraints to adhere to so there was no rushing to “get it all in.”
And while this was a smaller, more intimate celebration, these same parameters are entirely possible for weddings off all shapes and sizes and scales. It just means being properly prepared, properly supported, and expectations properly managed. That isn’t always easy to navigate. Make sure you have the right team behind you 🫶
