I got to know Gerald a little from his time at Cal State Northridge. He taught a class called "Introduction to Jazz". It was fun to audit the class. The door was always open.
Right after class he had a radio show on KBCA called "The Jazz Capsule". He knew I was into photography, and invited me to come to the station and take pictures. I ended up doing that several times. I met the the DJs, took pictures of the guests and had free run of the studio.
Somewhere in my garage, I have pictures and negatives of Gerald with Carmen McRea, and several others. So far, no luck finding them.
This picture is from around 2010 or so, taken at a concert at Catalina Jazz Club.
