Sara Freedman & Cj Freedman had the most gorgeous wedding and the most beautiful venue. I was chuffed to have been asked to capture it. Their love and the love from their family is very palpable. Plus, I believe this is some of my best videographic work. I hope you enjoy; it was a lovely day.

This was a rather short session, and yet we didn't need much time to capture these. Was going for something different with these shots, dialed back for them and they came out so well. Not to mention Josh and Caroline were so easy to work with, they were making each other laugh the whole time - it was a breeze.

Looking back on this shoot from November, it may be more necessary now more than ever to capture these points in our lives. They let us see where we were, sometimes let us see what's important. To be able to look back one day and see the emotion on your own face, see the way two people look at each other when they're in love. That's magical. Congratulations again to Josh and Caroline!

I'm giving away seven, 45 minute portrait sessions for the upcoming holiday. These sessions can be absolutely anything of your choice - whether that is senior portraits, couples portraits, maternity, engagement, family, even product or commercial photography. It would be a wonderful opportunity to do Christmas cards of the whole family.

Now, how do you enter? It's pretty simple. First of all, like the page. Once you've done that, comment on this post and then share it. That's all you have to do to enter. The seven winners will be drawn and announced next Friday, December 11th at 11:00 a.m EST. The drawing will be completely automated and recorded for posterity. If you've won, you can contact me to redeem your session at any time. However, keep in mind that all winners will have six months to redeem their winnings. I am willing to travel up to 55 miles to accommodate, after that distance I will have to charge to travel any further. All photos that are approved for editing from the session will be available to you once completed.

The only restrictions are weddings and the allotted time, each session will last 45 minutes. If you decide you would like to purchase a portrait package instead (which includes prints and longer shoot times), you could alternatively use your winnings as a $100 credit towards any kind of session or wedding photography/videography package. I wanted to go for a larger giveaway, this way if 70 people enter - you still have a 10% chance of winning.

I've been wanting to do a giveaway for quite some time, and after this past year I'm motivated now more than ever to do it. It's been an incredibly odd and restrictive year in many ways. Personally, in years past I would go back through my photos over the course of the year and relive through them. However this year, there weren't as many photos there for me to go through. Sometimes there were even whole months missing. I want to give people those memories, record a moment in time for the years to come. I'm very excited about this and I hope you are too! Good luck!

This past year has been filled with so much turbulence, it’s... easy to let the months and isolation take over. It’s made photographing things like this so much more important now. ⠀

Every photo is a time stamp - a single frame capturing exactly where you were in that moment. Some of us don’t even have photos of ourselves outside of something being taken at an event by someone else. So this year, especially, senior portraits and maternity shoots and engagements - they’re so incredibly important. ⠀

These photos in particular turned out so well, I couldn’t be happier with them. I hope you all enjoy, remember to photograph your year. Photos of Shelby Brady.

Had the best engagement shoot this weekend in the mountains. What started off somewhat rocky with a quick change in location became this beautiful representation of two people and their future together.

We have to approach life and it’s obstacles like water, always facing them head on and finding a new path. Just like this session - if the road had not been closed to the original location for the shoot, these photos as they are wouldn’t exist. What originally looked bleak due to prior expectations, turned into something irreplaceable and gorgeous. It shows who they are and that is everything. Congratulations to Hannah Hawkins and Cameron Quesenberry!

Yesterday afternoon, we went out to take Skye Dalton and Seth Sexton's engagement portraits in Barbara Scott's beautiful sunflower field. It was questionable whether we’d be rained out or if the sun would even peak through the clouds for this style of portrait.

We played to the environment’s advantages completely and I think what we came away with is something truly captivating. Something that represents this couple for who they are and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. It started with thunder and ended with lightning, but the sun remained.

I recently had the opportunity to video an incredibly endearing wedding for Gunnar & Hannah Stephens. Going into rehearsal the day prior, we didn’t know how gorgeous the actual day would turn out. I remember mid-way through the rehearsal we were sitting under a tin roof, trying not to get wet from rain being pushed in from all sides by the wind.

They may have just picked the wettest week in all of May for a wedding, yet in one day; the scenery went from dreary and wet to bright and cheerful. A gorgeous day with gorgeous people - it was the most beautiful wedding I have ever seen. Enjoy.

**PHOTOS IN COMMENTS**

I was recently honored with the opportunity to document the painful, deeply saddening, yet beautiful timeline that is cancer during pregnancy. With her permission, this is Jesse Crews and this is her story.

I must admit, I am almost hesitant to write this - it feels wrong looking on the outside in, and telling you of her condition. First off, let me ease your mind; the baby is healthy and her cancer was caught early thanks to screenings for the pregnancy. But what lies in the aftermath? Jesse has a genetically mutated BRCA1 gene, a human gene that produces tumor suppressor proteins.

This gene in particular is very important, as it ensures the stability of each cell’s genetic material by repairing DNA. Speaking specifically, this mutated gene increases the risk of breast and ovarian cancers exponentially. To put it into perspective, roughly 12% of women will develop breast cancer sometime during their lives. While in comparison, 72% of women who inherit the mutated gene will develop breast cancer sometime during their lives. Past that, the mutated BRCA1 gene can be inherited from both a mother and father. And each child of a parent with this mutated gene has a 50% chance of inheriting it. Luckily in this case, men with this gene are less likely to develop cancer.

For Jesse, her son will join the family early, but not underdeveloped. She’ll then undergo further screenings, prophylactic surgery, and chemo-prevention. Without those surgeries, the likelihood of cancer returning is very high. As for her and her husband’s previously envisioned future, where their sons would have several other siblings, has been swiped away to reveal a future with two children. For after these surgeries, she will no longer be able to conceive.

But what is left is nothing short of a miracle. One brother, having a younger brother to look out for and one younger brother having an intrinsically curious older brother to look up to in their family home. While they will likely bump heads, there are very few bonds greater than that. While they may not see it early on, there is no greater love than that in name. And what is left in the fury of sadness, is beauty - and what is left over this burned land is a flower...waiting to bloom.
