Come support the 2025 Klondike Dog Derby at the Cutest Puppy Contest at Excelsior Brewing Company on Saturday, February 3rd! 🐾❤️

As it turns out, we're not letting the dogs out this year. 😭😭​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Unfortunately, due to the unseasonably warm winter, we cannot safely run the race around the lake, and have thus made the difficult decision to officially cancel the 2024 Lake Minnetonka Klondike Dog Derby. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
“Given current conditions and long-range weather forecasts, we’ve determined it is in the best interest of mushers who planned to race this year, our sponsors, and our volunteers to cancel at this time,” said Klondike Dog Derby Founder, Vice President and Race Director Bethany Hway. “While Minnesota could still give us sub-zero temperatures needed to freeze the lake quickly, plus snow needed to make a trail for the dogs, the odds are not in our favor.”​​​​​​​​
