Memorial Day has always been a holiday that I’ve loved, respected, and never wanted to take for granted. But it wasn’t until I met and her family that it truly became personal to me in a deeper way. Through her friendship, I have learned so much about our great country, the sacrifices that have been made to protect it, why we need each other, and the true beauty of America when people come together with courage, resilience, service, and love.

As I photographed this funeral, I was reminded in the deepest way that freedom is not free. It has been paid for through courage, sacrifice, and lives willingly laid down for others.

Watching a wife grieve the man she loved—a man who carried wounds from battle and ultimately gave his life because of them—was a powerful reminder that Memorial Day is so much more than a long weekend. It is a day to remember. To honor. To pause with gratitude.

I will never fully understand the weight carried by our military families, but today I am deeply thankful for those who have served, sacrificed, and loved this country so selflessly.

May we never take freedom for granted. ❤️🤍💙

Today’s the day for Liz & Josh!!! 🥹🤍✨

Ever since their engagement session, I’ve been counting down to this wedding day. We had SO much fun together during their session — full of laughter, sweet moments, effortless chemistry, and the kind of joy that makes my job feel way too easy. These two are the real deal and it’s been such an honor getting to document this season for them.

And now I get to photograph their intimate wedding day today?! Truly the sweetest full-circle moment. I already know this day is going to be so beautiful, meaningful, and filled with so much love.

One of my favorite parts of this job is getting a front row seat to some of life’s most sacred moments, and I never take that privilege lightly. 🤍

Proof that love only gets sweeter with time. 🥹

I genuinely believe every season deserves to be documented — not just engagements, weddings, or brand new babies. There is something incredibly meaningful about capturing the comfort, friendship, laughter, and deep connection that grows over years of doing life together.

Photographing couples like this brings me SO much joy because these images become part of their legacy. One day these photos will mean even more than they already do.

What an honor it was to photograph the St. Jude Gala here in Charlotte on Saturday evening. ✨ It was a beautiful night celebrating generosity, hope, and the incredible work being done through — with over $1 million raised to support such a life-saving mission.

It was also so special to celebrate the Palmer family as Jennings received the Hope Award. 🤍 What a meaningful moment and such a beautiful reflection of strength, impact, and community.

So grateful for every person who gives so generously to keep this mission going and to help save lives. Above all, thankful for a God who is the ultimate healer, the giver of every good thing, and for the blessing of living in a city like Charlotte that shows up for causes like this in such a powerful way. ✨

You deserve to be in the photos, not just the one taking them 🤍

One day, your kids won’t remember the perfectly packed lunches or the endless to-do lists… but they will remember what it felt like to be loved by you. The way you held them. The way you looked at them. The way you showed up.

This Mother’s Day season is your reminder:
you don’t need to wait for the “perfect” time, the perfect outfits, or a less busy season.

As this post goes live, I’m on my way to Winston-Salem to photograph the sweetest family as part of my Baby Bundle package 🤍

One of my favorite things about this experience is that it tells a full story — four sessions over the course of a year, ending in a beautiful heirloom album filled with the moments you never want to forget. From anticipation to tiny details to growing personalities… it’s all preserved in a way that actually lives beyond your phone.

The family I’m about to see trusted me with their first baby, and now I get to walk alongside them again as they prepare to welcome their second. Truly the biggest honor.
