Hi guys, I’m Mariela!
It feels like it’s been a while since I’ve really shown up on here as me, and lately I’ve been reflecting on how much has shaped not just my work… but who I am behind it.
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and I carry so much of that with me the warmth, the emotion, the importance of family and connection. I think that’s always been a part of me, and now it’s at the core of how I see and document everything.
Over the years, my life has shifted in so many ways, but my daughter became my reason why.
Not just in photography, but in everything I do.
She’s the reason I push myself, the reason I believe so deeply in what I’m building, and the reason it matters so much to me to show her what’s possible.
That you can create something of your own, be a business owner, chase your goals, and build a life you’re proud of.
She also changed the way I experience time.
She made me slow down… to notice the in-between moments, the quiet ones, the ones that don’t seem big at the time but end up meaning everything.
And that perspective has completely shaped my work. Photography, for me, isn’t just about creating something beautiful… it’s about holding onto something meaningful.
The way a moment feels, the people who surround you, the connection that makes your story yours.
My style has naturally grown into something that feels really true to me romantic, intentional, and a little editorial… but always rooted in real emotion.
I’m drawn to movement, to connection, to the kind of images that feel effortless but still timeless.
Outside of photography, my favorite thing in the world is simply being with my little family.
Those are the moments that ground me, inspire me, and remind me why all of this matters in the first place. I don’t believe in a one size fits all approach to documenting love.
Every story is different, and I care deeply about capturing it in a way that feels honest, personal, and lasting.
