After a long and unexpected 2½-year break from social media, I’m finally back—and I have something really special to share. 💛

As many of you know, our home was devastated by a flood at the end of 2022, and life pulled me offline while we focused on rebuilding from the ground up. Quietly, behind the scenes, I kept photographing beautiful weddings, portraits, and events—but I wasn’t in the space to share them.

Today, that changes.

I’m thrilled to finally unveil my brand-new website—a project born from resilience, creativity, and so much heart. It’s a fresh chapter and a space that feels entirely like me. It also reflects what has always been at the heart of my work: an inclusive, welcoming approach for every person and every love story. Whether you’re q***r, trans, BIPOC, disabled, plus-size, camera-shy, or just hoping not to blink in every photo—I see you, I celebrate you, and you absolutely belong in front of my lens.

When I was thinking about how to compose this ring shot for Lauren and George, I realized a couple of things. The first was that I'd be delivering these images around the holidays, so I wanted to include some kind of festive touch. You think of Christmas and, other than the traditional tree, there's nothing more ubiquitous than holly, so I was delighted to find some growing by the front doors of The church on their wedding day. What I also happened to know about holly (I like to research this kind of thing) is that holly is richly symbolic of protection, of refuge from danger. Birds take shelter in holly tree during the winter, counting not only on the red berries for nutrients, but also on the spiky leaves for protection from would-be predators. I've always found that to be a lovely metaphor for marriage: a union that not only protects you, but that feeds you in myriad ways.

She said YES!!

Ryan pulled off the perfect proposal. After luring Alli to the rooftop with what appeared to be a brief architectural lesson, he got down on one knee and received an enthusiastic YES! I was crouched behind a column capturing the joy-filled moment. Then I caught a few portraits of the newly betrothed pair before they headed off to celebrate with family waiting at a nearby restaurant.

I photographed Casey for the first time when she graduated from Davidson with a degree in music. Now, fresh out of graduate school with her master’s in music (with a concentration in vocal performance), she makes her living as a vocal performer focusing on opera. Her most recent role was at a summer program in Urbania, Italy where she sang the role of Alice Ford in a production of Falstaff.

I hadn’t seen the Boone family since Carter was still growing inside his mama’s belly. What a joy it was not only to meet him but also the family’s newest addition, little brother, Jordan. Some playtime in the backyard followed by a walk on the neighborhood Greenway was the perfect fit for this relaxed crew.

Of course a beautiful human named Sonshine is down for a sunrise portrait session with her beloved, Trent, in tow.

I’ve always been a morning person but I never expect my clients to feel the same. However, I can’t deny that it is a treat when a couple is more than happy to greet the day with me, looking fabulously in love while I wipe the sleep out of my smiling eyes. These two were an absolute joy to begin the day with and I can’t wait to watch them become husband and wife next month.
