Growing up, 2 of my favorite movies were “The Secret Garden” and “Beauty and the Beast”. Not to spoil them for you, but at the end of the”The Secret Garden”, the garden that was once overgrown and dead is brought back to lively flowers and beautiful colors, and the little boy who once was “sick” then walks and runs again. At the end of “Beauty and the Beast”, the people of the kingdom who were once turned into pots and clocks and teacups are transformed back into the humans they once were, and a kingdom that was dark and dreary is transformed into one of light and restoration, now even more beautiful than it was before. I have always loved these movies and a little while ago I realized why.
The Resurrection of the Savior has always rung in my heart as absolutely and positively true. Even at a young age, I recognized the symbolism of these restorative endings, and my soul latched onto the truth that everything will be restored in the end, to an even better and more beautiful and glorified state than before it was lost. All ailments will be healed and all pain will be gone. I know this is because of Him. Jesus Christ suffered it all, even death, so that He could defeat death and hell. He overcame all misery, both physical and spiritual. He provided the way for us to overcome everything - to be spiritually washed clean, and to be resurrected and live eternally with Him, our Heavenly Father, and our families forever!! This is the only “end” that has ever made sense. And it’s not even an end!!
I testify that all of the hope that is contained in the life, gospel, and resurrection of Jesus Christ is real. How could it not be? He is Risen! He rose from the dead. And one day we will too. This year as I’m striving to get closer to Him and learn more about His life and teachings, I invite you to do the same. There is no level we can fall to that He cannot reach, because He has descended below all things to be able to lift us up. He is ALIVE! And He is the source of absolutely all healing. That’s what I’m learning again and again :)) happy Easter everyone!! And may you always know that He is with you, because He is. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. ♥️
