I had the honor of taking my sister’s med school graduation photos a few weeks ago. I have taken A LOT of graduation photos, but these are by far my favorite, because of what they represent. I have watched my sister study, excel, cry, accomplish, learn, grow and become so much over 10 years since she graduated high school in 2016. Four years at Chapel Hill, a gap year, COVID times, EMT, volunteer hours, then four years of medical school at Campbell University. She has been working so hard for this dream of hers, and she finally did it!!! Introducing to you- Dr. Sarah Elizabeth Welch- family medicine. Now onto residency!!!! So proud of you and your good friend Dr. Namitha Thomas as well- best of luck to all of you grads!! Thank you for allowing me to capture this milestone moment for you 🤍

Why hire a prom photographer? Ft. Anna and Martin- Prom 2026 ❤️🌹

Hiring a prom photographer might seem optional in the age of smartphones, but there are a few solid reasons people still choose to do it—and they go beyond just “better pictures.”

First, quality and consistency. A professional knows how to handle tricky lighting, or in this case: RAIN on prom day, group shots, and movement. Instead of blurry or poorly lit phone photos, you get sharp, well-composed images that actually look like keepsakes rather than quick snapshots.

Second, you get to be in the moment. If everyone’s relying on their phones, someone always ends up stuck behind the camera or looking at only their parent’s phone, meaning nobody is all looking the same direction in one photo! A photographer takes that pressure off so parents don’t have to say, here let’s take another on MY phone & and your friends can focus on enjoying the night.

There’s also the group dynamic. Prom usually involves lots of friend groups, couples, and outfit photos. A photographer can quickly organize people, suggest poses, and make sure no one gets left out—something that’s surprisingly hard to manage casually.

Another big reason is editing. Professionals don’t just take photos—they enhance them. That means better color, lighting adjustments, and sometimes retouching, so the final images actually match how the night felt, not just how the camera captured it.

Lastly, it creates a more lasting record. Prom is one of those milestone events people tend to look back on years later. Professionally shot photos tend to age better and feel more “complete” compared to scattered phone pics that might get lost or deleted.

DM me “PROM” to have me at your prom or your next event!
