Get my POV both stopping the action and intentionally blurring it at a Kannapolis Cannon Ballers recent baseball game. (In the final photo you can even see the steak of the ball which is pretty cool due to the longer shutter speed).

My photo on the cover of Currents Magazine is out today! I have been so excited to see this image of 80Z Nation band at The Boatyard LKN as the cover photo on this publication.

I have been enjoying shooting hummingbirds lately, and this past week, I have been experimenting with the mechanical shutter (vs. the electronic shutter earlier this month). We will talk about the different shutter types and much more in our upcoming "Mastering Mirrorless" class (which is almost sold out). Check out the link in the first comment for registration.

In the meantime, I got a few photos I am really happy with, and included my camera settings for the first one as a guide. The last image is the first time I saw a male, so now I will be hoping for more opportunities to capture him in action.

The opener on Friday night at BoatYard was and she did a great job warming up the country crowd. I had wanted to photograph her band for the last year or so, and it was fun to get some images I am really happy with. Aaron did a great job on the lighting, providing very dramatic front and back lighting (you can definitely see it in the last few photos). Also played with a couple of "whips" (moving the camera quickly at a low shutter speed) and my favorite filter effects. My main kit for this evening was the Sony A7V camera and the Tamron 28-70mm F2.8 lens and the Sony 70-200mm F2.8 lens.

Today, my wife and I visited Cline's Country Antiques, one of our favorite shopping and photography spots. We found some great items, and I tried out two new lenses (a 50mm tilt and a 17mm tilt/shift) and experimented with creative multiple exposures on my Nikon camera. Featured here are two of my favorite images, both taken with the 17mm tilt/shift lens. I used the tilt feature on the first photo and the shift feature on the second.

After our Lightroom Workshop last weekend, I wanted to share the edited and unedited versions of both photos to demonstrate the power of LR masking. Scroll to the third and fourth photos to see the before shots, and compare them to the first two.
