At first it’s just there… distant, passing through the darkness.

Then somehow it becomes part of your routine. Something you check for without thinking. Something that quietly matters.

You start noticing the subtle things.
The phases.
The disappearances.
The way even partial light still changes the entire landscape around it.

And maybe that’s the strange part about certain connections…
some can feel closer than they should long before they’re ever within reach.

So you wait.
Not because you have to.
Because some things are rare enough to deserve patience.

Somewhere between the silence and the stars… you realize none of us are as big as we pretend to be.

This is M101, the Pinwheel Galaxy.

Roughly 21 million light years away and filled with nearly a trillion stars.
1600 images captured with a telescope over two weeks from the shoreline of Lake Huron in Tawas Point State Park, Michigan… then stacked together to pull this much detail out of the dark.

Tiny lives.
Endless universe.
